The organist librarian

Enjoyed the Mass for St John's Day and we sang Rawsthorne and Eyre.Excellent sermon from the vicar of Balham. Berni Excell is doing fine. At the vicarage lunch chatted to Mother Roxanne and Nicholas Bucknall whose family owned Eyre's house in Fox Hill. Dennis and Henry came. Programme on the Royal Ballet Nutcracker. Radio 2 Young chorister of the year - the standard was high but William and Anna are worthy winners. I liked Charlie Truman. Beautiful singing and playing Glyndebourne's Magic Flute and a brilliant production.

Just checked the tenor soloist in the Darke on TV from King's better than on radio I think. Bombshell from Lou re school. St John's Day celebrated splendidly in Upper Norwood and an excellent vicarage lunch after Mass. Adrian played. Had a long chat to Daniel - he has been choosing the hymns without the planner! He only got one week on conflict in his training! Surely clergy need more on dealing with people? Terence told me about Chile and China. I am still not keen to go to China.  Dennis and Henry came. Slept peacefully now listening to Leeds cathedral midnight broadcast. Long facebook messaging  Jackie Jones on Muslims taking part in Oldham Christmas day TV broadcast and Andrew Pritchard on Catenian recruitment. Christmas at St Paul's lovely programme. Christmas University challenge. 

Swam 20 the pool opened early so thanked the attendant as it is a holiday.  How many composers have you met? Stravinsky, Walton, Bliss, Macmillan, Darke, Francis Jackson, Rutter, John Barnard, Andrew Moore, Tavener, Alan Rees, Judith Bingham, Judith Weir, Martin How, Michael Fleming, Alan Smith , Roxanna Panufnik, David Hill,  Stephen Cleobury , Colin Mawby, June Nixon, Thomas Hewitt-Jones, Matthew Martin, Bernadette Farrell, Andrew Wright (in no particular order) and I am counting the widow of Vernon Griffiths as it was like sharing a meeting with him as she gave me a lot of his organ music! Enjoyed St John's Day at Upper Norwood and we sang Eyre. Lovely lunch in the vicarage and good chats to Gareth, Daniel Trott and Fr Mark Williams from Kennington.
