A busy day! Festival of St Cecilia at the Abbey. Glorious new Chilcott anthem and Blessed city. Great hymns How shall I sing, O praise ye the Lord, Christ is made the sure foundation. Bruckner Christus factus est. Sitting in the nave we got a lot of organ but the violin solo was great - Jennifer Pike. Sermon from Bishop of London was a tad disappointing and who is Daniel Barenboom? It's Barenboom. Lunch at Methodist Central Hall with Barbara from mosaic and her Polish friends.Welsh Chapel Asher Oliver played Bruhns and Franck it was interesting to hear them again but on a very different organ. Splendid Bach. Queens gallery George IV excellent. 7 came to the group to hear Raya. Holy Trinity Sloane Square Samuel Ali Brahms and Bach very good. Tea at Peter Jones prior to the revolte tonight. UK premiere of Guillou's La Revolte des orgues at the drome. I liked the percussion and watching the conductor but more noise does not mean music. Excellent morning at RFH as part of St Alban's organ festival. Saw Matthew Martin. Attractive work by him for trumpet and organ. Lovely Angelus by Vierne. Rheinberger violin and organ. Cochereau Bolero organ and side drum played by Marko Sever. Well done all especially Joseph Beech and James Orford. People power at Imperial War museum excellent.   S ent letter to The Tablet as Rick Jones did not know what Levit's encore was so told him to check BBC proms website. Critics!  An excellent appeal for Aid to the Church in need at the cathedral Mass. Presented Joseph with his 18th birthday card and present. Listening to prom on way home. Reckoned I would be late at the hall and not get in for the Strauss Actually the Beethoven 3 chat was first. Skype to Liz in Lourdes. Listened to prom from Hull.

Tenebrae and I was book. Superb Victoria and a great strepitus! Played for the Vigil and the Hallelujah chorus got a big clap then straight to the cathedral for the last part with stunning Cochereau at the end. Watched The Big painitng challenge and lovely Easter at King's while I worked on my mosaic. Home at midnight. Have now uploaded all Jerusalem photos. 

Finished reading the Pieris book. Liz went to course retreat at Tyburn. To St George's cathedral for Peter Wright's excellent recital of Bach, Vierne, Cochereau, Bairstow, Jackson and the Leighton Et resurrexit again. Not impressed that Mark Johnson ignored me - it was the St Cecilia day as well. Norman Harper was most welcoming and there was a reasonable audience. On 344 with Dorio to St Mary le Bow. An excellent demo by the church secretary of the Kenneth Tickell 2010 organ which is a real treat. I played two Andrew Moore pieces. There was a good turnout too. To M & S for tea and cake. At Mass RCIA candidates were enrolled. St George's Sudbury all male choir did not distinguish themselves! Nice meal of pork chop. Michael Portillo has continental railway journeys series!

David came and held ladder and got 3rd coat of tar on roof. We had coffee adn enjoyed a chat - his old school sounds horrendous! To St Michael's for recital by Carl Jackson - a good programme Preston, Ireland, Pomp and circumstance No.4, Mathias Berceuse, Langlais. Then to cathedral to sort out dates for interfaith group - will be on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. Sat in garden and read until 4 p.m. when 12 people came for the talk on Buddhism by Brian Appleyard. He spoke without notes. To St Mary le Bow on district line to hear Timothy Radcliffe on the Our Father and justice - excellent but could not hear every word. Back to cathedral for Martin Baker's recital and a good audience. Franck No. 1, Mendelssohn, Reger, Cochereau and Tournemire. Excellent. Home listening to prom celebrating 800 years of Cambridge including Stanford in A, Jonathan Harvey, Judith Weir, Saint-Saens 3 with Thomas Trotter.
