St Thomas More

Friday was a brilliant day. I was greeted at John Fisher school Purley by the head Philip McCullach and he sat in on the year 7 lesson. I was greatly impressed by the preparation on the Catenians and the Powerpoint went really well with lots of interaction. Juan's son's friend was in the class! To Selhurst and saw Steve Murphy - he is now retired. First spiritual guidance meeting with Ivan - I like him. We met in the Selhurst cafe but it was noisy. Liz went to Acton after choir. 2 hours life drawing at National Portrait gallery enjoyed it and did 7 drawings. Watched Citizen Khan and programme on Thomas Cromwell. Carpets cleaned after 3 years.

Catenians

Woke early. Did Catenian scrolls, diary, emails. Fr Michael Quaqoe said It's your big day tomorrow! Laughed at Citizen Khan. We had sparklers after dinner. Dan Cruickshank's series on houses.

Quiet day at home

Both went swimming. A quiet day clearing the garden of leaves and putting the  contents of the boxes into bags. I took the bags of clothes to Emmaus Lambeth at West Norwood. Did the draft Provincial President's calendar. Watched Citizen Khan, Simon Reeve in Ireland.

Chris Hewer and Michael Barnes

To Kingston Milaap centre for excellent day on Islamic ethics with Chris. Met a humanist and Josephine from Weybridge. To Heythrop for Professor Barnes's inaugural lecture on Grey wisdom. Good to see people there. Ended up at Sydenham so late back. Watched Citizen Khan.

Catching up

Watched TV programmes on wars of the Roses and Elizabethan England and Story of the Jews. Citizen Khan very funny.

Michael Dorey

Woke up late again - have not had a swim this week. Sean is gaining weight! To Hinsley Room for the whole of the spirituality day and great to be back! Michael Dorey did a lovely meditation on the vine and the branches and we ate the grapes on display at lunchtime! Cathedral closed for filming with Kenneth Branagh. Saw Anton in St Paul's and bought cards. He put up Sharing Eden poster and I took one to Church House bookshop. I shared Brian Wren's "I come with joy, a child of God". Crozier for Archbishop Vincent at Mass for Society of St Barnabas - not many of them. Paul M actually greeted me! They support Anglicans wanting to become Catholic priests. I wonder who supports priests going the other way? The Catholic church behaves really badly to such people - they become "persona non grata" and forgotten. Hardly very Christian! Liz went to RCIA group for her course and enjoyed it. Watched Citizen Khan which is hilarious, University Challenge and a bumper Come...

Catenians

To Shirley Park golf club for meeting about membership of Norwood circle - quite useful but cannot understand why Kevin did not discuss this at the table on Wednesday! Pulpit presentations planned for Upper Norwood and Addiscombe but of course there is no way I would help there! Oddly enough Our Lady's has come up a lot this weekend meeting St Mildred's choir folk and Howard had been there. Citizen Khan very funny.
