Ben Bloor

Swam.  Bravo  Benjy Bloor  for brilliant playing at St George Hanover Square and great to hear some Howells. A programme full of sunshine incl Hollins and Vierne!  The Found exhibition at the Foundling museum is worth a visit and Ironbaby by Anthony Gormley is very moving in its simplicity. A baby on the floor - a powerful comment.  Interesting works by Colin Matthews and enjoyed the Dresden bells. Das Lied von der Erde with Alice Coote followed by the 16 (actually 34) Bach and beautiful Part. Took an hour to get to Acton.  BFG with the boys. Excellent film and followed by Pizza Hut.  East West Divan with Daniel Barenboim Liszt and Wagner - great sound. The preProm talk on Wagner was a little dull.

Delville Wood

Excellent service from Autoglass - new windscreen fitted and new wipers so I was able to drive to art after all where we had great fun with the Brit school students. Did 4 quick lifedrawing efforts. I was very pleased with the double portrait. Julie now has my pictures for the library exhibition. 2 of the ladies gave me items for the interfaith stall. To East Dulwich picturehouse to see Absolutely Fabulous which was funny. Home to change into evening dress for the Old Johannian Delville Wood commemoration dinner at Institute of directors. Excellent and it was free! It was very moving to read of the bravery of Fr Hill. Sat with the new head and Penny Peregrine. Delighted to meet Michael Lugton from Edinburgh. We were home after midnight. Friday lie-in and took duvet and tie to cleaners and delivered the pictures to Alan Gadd. Worked on July 17th details and sent church emails. Right hearing aid giving lots of problems - hurts my ear so going to doctor to get wax removed first and usi...

Imagine

Saturday to the Festival hall for Roald Dahl festival. The concert was sold out but the story bed was great and Ciaran loved posting dreams in a jar and then sorting them out downstairs -  a very simple but clever installation. Also chalk on the floor, audio books and story telling boats. Lunch at Giraffe sitting outside with blankets! Story of suitcases and an excellent guided tour through the wonderful world of Roald Dahl. Lovely meal at the Canteen with the family which was a nice surprise. Watched Dickensian and the 70s. Had a wierd dream about an ordination with PM and Louise Sage.  Went to 8 a.m. Mass at St Mary's West Croydon. Arrived at church to find a large skip full. I have now brought nearly all my organ music home! It seems a pity that the paper was not recycled but a clearout was certainly needed! I played Bach Lenten preludes and Fantasia in C minor. Only one more week of the Murray setting - hurrah! Have played it nearly every week for 3 years apart from Chris...
