The organist librarian

To Victoria and Albert for classical drawing course with the fascinating Nelson Ferreira who is from Portugal and told us a lot about art history. My technique improved over the 3 drawings and I learnt a lot. The underground was so full that I got buses so I got to the cathedral at 6. Mass for All Saints with Lees Court choir singing Victoria and Stanford but was it really joyful? Straight to the new circular Clapham library for the launch of Bobbie Darbyshire's new novel Oz. Great to see her, Isabel Losada and Lorinda Freint again. 

Had a lie-in. Liz went to get her new Boots glasses (2 pairs) and I listened to Walton symphony No. 1 with score from the Prom and the Maxwell Davies Prom which was heavy going! I went to Clapham Junction to get my resized ring and said hello to Isabel Losada in the window ar Waterstone's for the Battersea literature festival. The discussion was about Singapore and I asked a question about our experience of the attentive mixed age audience and made the point that I had waited 10 years for them to play at the Proms. Glinka very fast, the Zhou Long concerto was attractive and Haefliger played a Berio encore which was quite bearable! Rachmaninov 2 very well played and a Walton march for industry as an excellent encore. To Acton. Wednesday Louise was home working and the lovely fireplace was installed. Slept well but woke with back ache. Swam 14 and then to Emertons to get plywood for mosaic and sawed it at home. Mosaic not many there - started on Maltese cross using left over tiles from our kitchen. Tai chi was good. Visited Isabel Losada in Waterstone's window advertising SW11 literary festival and bought her latest book which she signed. She says I should give talks on enjoying retirement! Sorted out cruise for next year and now booked through trailfnders who will organise transport to Rotterdam. Did some reading. Watching Buddha in Suburbia.

I seem to have omitted Isabel's 3rd visit in October to the library reading group about her latest book "Men". 20 people came as it was advertised as part of the Arts Festival.
