To Bridget Jones baby at Watermans on free tickets and we had Indian dinner. to oil, painting and Liz to council. Wed took S to Tamar and London wetland centre. met Prommer Judith at lunch. to East Dulwich picturehouse for RSC Lear with Sher leading a great cast in good production. Beale was more moving and echoes of Falstaff. Had time to do tyres and petrol - earlier Liz had to get a new battery Fred. Packed and watched Bakeoff.

Bruckner

Only twice this Proms season have I had a shiver down my spine. The first was the trumpet solo in Leonore No. 2 - like a royal silver trumpet. The second the clash when the main theme returns at the end of the first movement of Bruckner 9 - thrilling. Excellent discussion of Bruckner and his symphonies. I do not think the Bach cantata worked in the hall at all (at least in the gallery). Mahler youth orchestra conducted by Philippe Jordan. Had a lovely time taking Sean to Wetland centre while Ciaran was at circus skills workshop. Very interesting discussion on Tagore and I would like to read his short stories. Bryan Northcott's concerto not great, lovely Mozart Violin concerto 5 and Zemlinsky with the wonderful Christopher Maltman. Home in 45 minutes and wached Bakeoff.

Wetlands

Woke up too early so looked up scores.  A most enjoyable morning at the London Wetlands centre and a quiet afternoon. The Prom was good - Dukas, (shades of Ravel and Debussy) Michael Berkeley 's rather sad violin concerto and the superb Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet.

Wetland centre

We had a brilliant day taking the boys to the London Wetland centre and we have joined up as we will be returning! Loads to do and we did the search for clues to earn a chocolate. Applied to St John Caterham as organist and choirmaster. We saw ducklings! Ciaran fell over and knocked his head but he was OK.
