Scores

To mosaic and the new one is now traced out on the board. It is going to be complicated! Van Gogh Starry night. Skipped tai chi and got lots of scores from Westminster Music library and Balham library (the latter by car as trains disrupted). Liz took CiarĂ¡n to Vaughan school concert. Got hooked on Wimbledon - great match on centre court Warinkwa and Dimitrov. To Norwood Catenians (Dennis in Ireland). 10 plus 8 visitors. Interesting chat to Richard Mills about WWI and Brexit which he supports. Inside the American embassy is fascinating.

Salisbury cathedral concert

July 4 American Independence Day. Drove to Kew and were late for the chorus coach which fortunately waited for us. Nice lunch at restaurant in the cathedral close next to the military museum - I had steak pie. Rehearsal went well and most impressed by the lovely new font. People playing with the running water! Had tea and enjoyed evensong Purcell - boys and 6 men. Vierne Epitaphe. The concert itself drew a good audience and went very well. Part, Mendelssohn, Kodaly Laudes organi stunningly played by Daniel Cook and Faure Requiem. Home by midnight which was good going and a lovely sunset as we approached Stonehenge. This was much appreciated especially by Molly and Ella who seem keen to join the choir in September which is great. The problem will be fitting in choir practice in the their busy lives. Rehearsed with Karen for her ACertCM exam on Friday and she told me more about Jo Richards (formerly Richard Jones). To Vespers at the cathedral and we were acolytes. Stunning "Great is the Lord". Liz stayed to turn over for the Czech recitalist who played an odd programme. To evensong at St John's Upper Norwood. Paused for a moment in the rain where the ashes are buried - it will be 2 years next month since Mum and Dad were called to glory. We sang Noble in B minor and "O Lord my God" by Purcell. Dad's favou...
