Ben Bloor

A fun morning painting with boys! No mosaic, Saw Ros and she seemed more relaxed. Beautiful evensong at St Michael Cornhill. Howells responses and St Paul's service and Faire is the heaven. Parry chant for the psalm. Well done Jonathan Rennert and all involved. Only one caveat the pulpit Mike is not connecting to the loop! Benjy Bloor played superbly at the Oratory but I did get lost between Alain and Hindemith! I also told a young lady she had no right to record the whole thing on her phone without permission!

Simon Hogan

More reading and swam 28. To St Stephen Wallbrook for Simon Hogan's recital. Met Caroline Archbold on London Bridge and Martin Ball was at the recital. Simon is organ scholar at St Paul's and very impressive. Bowen, Bairstow, Bach and Elgar sonata. Reading Eliza Griswold's book and watched Gypsy wedding. Turned off the Schubert Stabat mater - bit fed up with so much Schubert on Radio 3. Practice went well and covered all the territory. Got petrol at Tescos - several garages closed.

On the second floor I finally found leaflets and posters about local events. The tourist information centre was closed! And this is school holiday time! The Church Times includes adverts for assistant directors of music at York, St Albans and Southwell. Simon Bell is going to Winchester from Southwell and Richard Sharpe is going to York from Truro. To St Michael's for Ian Curror's recital. York Bowen Fantasia, 3rd movement of Elgar sonata, Chelsea Fayre by Goss-Custard (shades of Grai...
