Interfaith breakfast

Buss trike so we drove to Streatham synagogue where there was a good turnout for the interfaith harmony week breakfast. Nice to chat to Revd Nagase who knows Prem and showed him the Chennai videos. William was there and I met Maksud who I had contacted about Conversations! To art and worked on Ivor's portrait - quite pleased with it so far. Wrote an account of Celia Blackden as she is moving to Focolare in Rome! Sent parcel of music from Peter Myers to Iain Melville in Yelverton. With 2 Brendans to Dulwich circle at their new venue the Griffin sports club. Acoustics not great but lots to eat!

Bearded tit

Graham, Clare and Carice showing off the swan. Reading group enjoyed yule log chocolate and mince pies and mostly liked Rory McGrath's "Bearded tit" - there were some subtleties in the book which people had missed. We then went to Antipasta for lunch. I had cannelloni and white wine. Sang the O antiphon at vespers and had 6 servers at mass, The big surprise was Libera sang at Mass and very beautiful it was too - quite a few are RC. Bob Prizeman remembered me from RSCM southern cathedral singers with Martin How and mentioned Peter Myers and Howard. Came home for dinner and fell asleep during final of "Strictly come dancing"! Christmas letter from Ann and Paul and lots of cards.

Peter Myers RIP

Peter died on Friday of lung cancer. He was for many years a teacher at John Fisher school and lived in Coulsdon. We well remember when his wife Christine died and I organised a requiem Mass at Addiscombe for her. Peter sang with us in the Nicholson Singers and joined us at Coulsdon and Upper Norwood for big events. He had a sonorous bass voice. We shall miss the funeral as we will be in Germany. That's the third funeral I've missed this year. He was 61.
