Swam 20. Did some looking up on Meister Eckhart. To Bromley library to get scores - 3 of them could not be found in stacks. Sandwich and coffee chatting to couple and gave out fliers for the Sunday series -  a couple of people asked for directions. Chris Town was there. A stunning recital by Tak who is 22 and has just graduated at the Royal College. Vierne, Muffat, Buxtehude , dancing Bach, Howells and Mulet - the last my Dad would have said "The crossing gates are open!" She is clearly a name to watch! Had very nice dinner on return home and Liz went to Chiswick. Cardiff singer of the world and a programme on Ian Banks and Father Brown. 

Finished at court at 4.30 so home and had dinner and watched Julia Bradbury doing canal walk in Wales. Listened to a bit of Michael Berkeley on hearing loss. To the cathedral for Gillian Weir's final recital. Splendid playing and a good audience - Demessieux, Bach, Franck, Martin, Willan and Mulet. Standing ovation and she walked the length of the cathedral and into the pulpit with flowers from Madeleine. Even Marie-Claire Alain didn't go in the pulpit! A memorable evening. Nice to see David Hill there. Met Liz at the end - she had been at RCIA with Michael Dunne. Watched The Hour on return home.

Swam 30 or really 29 and a half as others too slow in slow lane! Another nice day. Home all day yesterday doing reading and finished the Goddard book which I now have to review for essay 1. Watched Who do you think you are American version. Liz catching up on TV she missed. To Patrick Hopper's recital at Beckenham. Dorio there. I parked at Arena to get the tram - much more convenient and no hold up on South Norwood Hill despite the works. He played Bach, Langlais, Andriessen and Mulet very well. Watched Larry Lamb's Who do you think you are. He has a Jewish uncle in L.A. and a granddad who was a showman and disappeared. Reading Tariq Ramadan's book. Important speech by Baroness Warsi at the Vatican reported in the Tablet. More reading and interesting article on Jesus and the temple by Tom Wright. Practice OK no Marie  or John and Jenny left early. Seem to be getting cold feet over the Somervell. Good TV programme on Purcell.

Spoke to Ann, up early and did blog and printed off music for chorus which in fact was incorrect so a waste of time and paper and ink! To dentist and now have 2 top teeth without a gap! £150. Finished off tar on gutter and roof and no sign of leaks. To St Michael's for interesting recital by Maxine Thevenot a Canadian who plays in Albuquerque New Mexico - Preston, Vierne, Mulet, Demessieux and Canadian Denis Bedard. It was good that she introduced the pieces from the loft. Home for stir fry and then to Hinsley room. 9 came for talk by Ross Kempsell about World Youth day in Sydney last July. He said he would speak for 20 minutes but in fact spoke for nearly 2 hours - he was brilliant and so interesting! His mum came too. To chorus to rehearse music for first "Merlin" recording with Debbie Miles-Johnston. To Victoria to meet Mark and Mariana who is charming and glamourous - pizza express. Very nice!
