Alan Barley

The boys are chilling out listening to Harry Potter! To Croydon crem for funeral of Alan Barley. There were some fine tributes .I know Pauline from art group and only met Alan twice both of those occasions at the exhibition and we was so happy for Pauline. The reception was at Cricket for change opposite Bandon Hill cemetery. The real mystery was recognising a couple at the centre - he is called Peter Sellars but we could not work out where we had met! Fr Dominic rang about Christopher's bid. Barry Williams rang and had a long chat. The publicity for National Organ day at Caterham done. Watched the Queen's jewels, Only connect, Red arrows in America and Michelangelo.

Jane Williams

Mass, art and good progress. I have darkened the blue to make the main figures stand out. Organists association committee meeting. To the Weston library at Southwark cathedral to hear Dr Jane Williams talk about her Lent book "The merciful humility of God". She was excellent. Came on the train with Gareth and Marlene. Lovely to see them. Watched Red Arrows and Chester Zoo.

John Fisher school

My third visit to John Fisher school Purley to talk about Thomas More and the Catenians went well. I got a round of applause! Beautiful playing by cellist Ariana Kashefi at St Bartholomew the Less. Bach, Hindemith and Casals. She is very special! 12 came to hear Sheikh Ramzy speak on Mary (Miriam) in the Qu'ran. Excellent. Antiques roadshow, Tom Kerridge, twins, Red Arrows.

Tom was out with Mark and Stella but cam home to rejoin the street party. We were up quite early on the Tuesday and drove home to watch the St Paul's service and the lunch and procession of carriages. Dennis and Ann-Marie had grandstand seats for the whole day opposite the Palace! We went up to Victoria and just saw the Red Arrows in the flypast. We served at the special mass with Mozart's Kronungsmesse with orchestra and a fine homily from Archbishop Vincent. Nice to see Brian and Fr Michael Dunne. Wednesday worked on the 2 essays and eventually decided to send them in. Sorted out organ music and now have a large pile to disp...
