A quiet day

An orchid in Dublin Botanic gardens.
A peaceful day spent listening to music from the Proms recorded on HDD and reading Alexander McCall Smith's latest delightful Isabel Dalhousie novel "The proper use of compliments". I like the way he brings in words of wisdom!

Glad you like Sandy McCall Smith. His elegant use of the language and his canny observations of human nature make for entertaining reading. 44 Scotland St is now in Vol 5 in The Scotsman at present. An added interest for me is that while born in Dunfermline I worked for several years in Edinburgh so I can picture the locations described.
Actually I have not read the Scotland Street series yet but I love the Botswana and Edinburgh detectives! So much humour and wisdom!
