Selma and reading group lunch

th staff meetings and to ACCL for excellent party to farewell Selma Elrayah. Met her husband. To choir practice on train because of snow. 19th to reading group. Philip Neale and Lyn were late coming from Essex and used Power point. Unfortunately this meant that we did not really discuss "A ticket to Tewkesbury". The lunch at Antipasto was excellent but went on rather long - I had zabaglione! Met Liz at Hammersmith hospital to see Doris and no time to meet Louise. Only there for 20 minutes and then to Mass. Archbishop was starting 5 deacons off! Ann's birthday.
th Stayed at church all day because of snow and read The Tablet with lunch from Waitrose. Nine lessons went really well. Only one mishap where Norman was late at rehearsal and came in on wrong note in Noel nouvelet! To Vickie's for nibbles and drinks. Most enjoyable.
st King's Cambridge concert at Albert Hall. Stephen Cleobury as friendly as ever. Rutter Gloria good and Messiah choruses. The choir on great form. To Victoria and Albert to see new £30 million Mediaeval and Renaissance galleries - superb presentation. Found Cafe Floris at South Kensington and had pizza and meatballs - very reasonable. Snowed again!
rd 11 a.m. meeting about parking permits and safety - positive and Meryl, Chris and Daphne all encouraging about applying for Balham!
th Bruce had arrived on 23rd so to Lakeside home to sing carols with Adrian at 11 a.m. I had a funny turn at lunch - I had been very hot in the home and then in garden doing bird feeders and changing tree lights and got cold. A chip got stuck in throat and I felt faint, sweaty and hot but it went down and I was OK. Bruce came to Coulsdon for the 2 crib services and was helpful as I cannot see when the children have reached their places. A man complimented me and we gave him a carols CD - most said they had one already! Home and had a sleep. Liz had hired a Leon car and was on TV from the cathedral and even on the news! Midnight went really well - we sang Haydn Mass, Tye A sound of angels as introit and Stille nacht at communion. I returned home to see TV broadcast - alas the timer setting was wrong but saw rest of it on Iplayer. Bruce had been to St John's and Liz came in an hour later and started wrapping presents.
