Recital

Green park for Nazareth walk with Richard, B and Southwark, The organ recital at Christ Church Streatham was much enjoyed and it was good to see friends there. Lunch at Sarah's and a first look at the Slifg archives which contain some real treasures. We also discussed the history video. Nice lunch and got on well with Jack. Home to Peter Holder's Prom recital and British film music. Ian Hislop on trains and the last Arctic programme.

Sunday Creation sunday. Woke too early and sent email to James requesting accounts for only this year. Simon celebrated. Lloyd Webber on Holyrood, a new prelude by Alan Gray, we sang Now the green blade, The heavens are telling. To coffee and nice cake. Rizwan with another annoying email this time about food. No wonder the last event he organised cost over £900 double the previous year! B solemn profession of Br Bede with Martin Ganeri. I was so tired I fell asleep on the bed! The intro to the Climate Sunday service from Glasgow cathedral was good but the technology failed for the service itself! I also missed Sustainable Thornton Heath as I had forgotten to book. Root and branch synod was excellent and quite challenging - should the leader at Eucharist be ordained? Heard second half of the prom Hindemith and Strauss.

Monday woke early again - at least the decision is taken about the accounts which was bothering me. Also Sarah has kept Rizwan at bay about the celebration food and the numbers allowed! SM,, B and Southwark. Colette's zoom which I chaired and we had a meeting about prayer outside the cathedral. Bridget able to play on 19th Sean's first communion so that's a big relief. Prom Pauline Viardor. Root and branch on transfender, LGBT and diversity. James Allison was excellent. Sheku playing Dvorak cello concerto. Tried Balham zoom but missed everyone. Only connect and University challenge. Thames Water in touch about trees at last.

Tuesday woke at 5 but back to sleep. SM, B, Southwark. To 10 a.m. Mass at St Mary's - my first live Catholic Mass since my visit to Addiscombe for the Catenian Mass in July! Nice to be back but the piped music was not very helpful. "Let us break bread together on our knees". Met Fr Patrick and he said he was pleased to meet me and had heard a lot about me! Practised on the Allen for the funeral. It's a strange instrument. Pedals not linked on the pistons. Lethal crescendo pedal. Essex zoom (outraged to hear of C of E trying to exclude guy who is thinking of becoming RC) Grief awareness zoom for a short while, quiet time. Last night's Prom with James McVinnie. Washing. Very hot. Installation of new canons at the cathedral and the boys singing. Watched Life stages at NT no 2 and part of no. 5. Bit of mass for Lourdes from Fulham. Root and branch featured Thomas and Tina Beattiie on moral theology and they answered my question about forgiveness. Prom SaintSaens 3.
