Worth

 Tuesday supervision group at All Saints. Picked up Forest church booklet which Jaimee will like and CS Lewis in Advent. To Worth arriving at 4. Scott let me into St Bruno's. Some came on Monday I think. To Mass , Evening prayer dinner Fr Peter came over to explain everything then compline. Slept OK. 

Wed. Did not get up for 6.15 but went to morning prayer at 7.30. Lectio  on Isaiah with Fr Peter. Went for a walk but could not get to quiet garden - too muddy but saw horses. Sketching. Midday prayer and an hour with Fr Peter in the library for confession which was marvellous. At Mass Fr Peter mentioned our lectio in the morning - very synodal. Evening prayer and dinner but missed compline as we talked too long! 

Thurs. Morning prayer and lection. Midday prayer lunch and home feeling very calm and happy. Liz OK. LSiUK zoom was good. To White Hart and parked nearby. Excellent meal and company - meditation group. Home at 9 pretty tired. 

Friday to Acton and Liz got out to go to Chiswick. Boys both home Sean with cough and Ciaran headache. Did not see much of them! Watched NT at home Present laughter with Andrew Scott. Very good. 

Sat Liz went to meet Carol and Kevin. Met her at the fair and got raffle tickets for Louise. Watched Grapes of wrath - pretty harrowing. Home but first to Beckenham - no hymns. Fr John read homily meantioning rose vestments and hw was wearing purple! Strictly final best ever and Chris won. 

Sun played LLoyd Webber on Hemsley and Rowley Condito alme also JSB Nun komm! We sang Creator of the stars of night. Organ tuned. Caterham school moved keyboard and chairs yet again. Carol practice with Paul and 3. Yoke pulled out of carols! Won teddy bear and lovely nativity figures on raffle.  Drove to Acton. Lamb for lunch and in fact we brought a lot of it home. Liz went to Mass at East Acton by Uber last night. Janacek Adventures of Mr Brucek from Brno. Lou and Tom back from Ireland at 8.30 and we were home via Putney by 9.30. Final episode of Wolf Hall. Rylance superb and Rafe crying was very touching. Liz to bed - she was tired and worried. 

Mon woke late Ann rang and later spoke to Bruce. Swim and aerobics - the cabaret was on form! Put up new tree in garden - lights very tangled! Liz to UCM meal. Only connect, Univ challenge, Mastermind, Michelangelo. Excellent Cathedral music trust quiz about carols. 

Tues Liz to Guys for new treatment every month with white cells. Took all day. I dropped her at station then went for swim and it was quiet. To quiet time and we sang a Christmas song after tea! To Kent House. Vespers at the cathedral with a young cantor who did not sing the plainchant O antiphon alas. Boys sang at Mass but my left ear was playing up. To Abrar centre and all went well. Nice chat to Bishop Paul over dinner. I spoke about the Salford encounter and the Synod final report. Nice gifts. Bishop ANgelos was most impressive and cordial. Danuta and Rizwan were there. 

Wed swim. Put up rest of decorations. Finished Daisy Wood Clockmaker's wife. Deleted lots of emails. 

Thursday Liz back to Guys and went well. Swim. Cards and letters delivered and posted at Sanderstead. Liz sang solo in Bairstow. The rehearsal wasn't great - the last section is tricky. However people enjoye d it and Paul and Catherine played well. Leonardo da Vinci programme. 

Friday no swim but took biscuits and card to the centre which was appreciated. To UNACC Triniti session lovely lunch with mulled wine and mince pies and we watched The Christmas Chronicles which was very clever. I won two items on the raffle. Liz had been shopping. Charpentier Messe de minuit on youtube. Gemma Simmonds on Magnificat but I dropped off. End of the Renaissance programme. 

Sat lie-in. SM at Tavistock square. Crib up and cards up. More horse jumping. Read at Mass. Liz was upset. Fr Steve rang her yesterday. In his homily he said there had been no bishop's visitation of the parish in the 9 years he has been there! Asked Hugh and he suggested Saporo which was excellent and only £30 each! There was a match at 5.30 so it was best to go out to eat. Royal Christmas customs programme.
