Getting behind on diary!

 Wed 10th took car for recall so we got bus and train back to Veck Meth for practice and coffee and apple strudel. Full set of hubcaps have to be ordered! To St Mary the Boltons Battersea Bridge very slow becaus eof tube strike and works. My talk was well received and Amir spoke at the end. Thursday 11th no art as sorting out appointment for right ear. Plannng meeting for Oct 2 and animators zoom. Definite buzz after the retreat! Choir practice in church 5 there Dab has a great tenor voice. Brahms - quite hard on my own! I got behind a couple of times! R and B zoom with Melanie and Barbara. 

Friday listened to some Proms To Lambeth palave library Sing joyfully exhibition and then to Clergy house for Oremus reception. Met the Precentor and talked about art! 

Sat Fr Thomas at Mass - he says it well but his hymn singing is so slow! Last night was good. Bill Bailey on typewriter and organ at the end.

Sun to St James Riddlesdown - warmly welcomed by Grant the vicar who looks after 3 churches. PLayed voluntaries on Rockingham. Evensong from Holy sepulchre lost contact. Liz at Messy church. Jessye Norman and highlights from Proms on TV.

Monday a good day. SPidir committee so no swim. Liz to crafts and picked her up. Chat to Ann. Claire is 37! NPG for portrait award true to form judges got it all wrong. First prize covered in daubs of white paint. Several touching portraits of elderly with dementia. Millet at National Gallery. Angelus is so lovely but why no text provided? Rowan Williams at SM was excellent. Richard Carter and Ed Davey! 

Tuesday swim.

18.9.17 From Seville to Gibraltar. Quicker to walk over border waving passport. Small buses drove across aiprot runway. Europe point with view to Africa. St Michael's cave and macaques. Crowded Main Street from cruise liners. RC and Anglican cathedrals and the excellent Gibraltar museum. Ice cream. People were disappointed. To Torremelinos and big hotel balcony and beach view. Went to excellent restaurant on beach and had anchovies, prawn and avocado salad and swordfish. Much cheaper than the tour extra outing which would have cost 110E.

Guernsey 2

Sunday enjoyed chatting to Peter and Edna Morgan from Basingstoke and he loves Parry I was glad and organ music. He worked in Dubai. Mass at the hotel hardly any singing then coffee. Another lovely day pity the pool was closed. Drove round North coast Rousse tower, Fort Pembroke, Fort le Marchant, Fort Doyle and marina. Earlswood garden centre for tea and lemon cake. Motorcross on beach. Very warm in our room hence a cough. Pizzas from the bar long wait but good. Watched Antiques roadshow, Blue planet live, Victoria. Monday breakfast with Peter and Edna. To Ladies bay and walked round Delaunay Park. Mass at noon for the Annunciation at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Polish priest. Interesting circular wooden altar and evangelists in wood like Steyning or Oberammergau. Guernsey museum to see photos Chimera. Cream tea and bought soapstone elephant and gifts.
