 Manchester staying at Luther King house with it’s pretty fountain. Japanese prints at Whitworth gallery, Pankhurst house very interesting , Manchester museum Human natures and Asian section. At the opera house saw The Midsomer County murders quite brilliant! Best of all the Halle playing Mahler 6 maestro Wang! Delicious meal in the Charles Halle room. Rail journey was fine home by 7.45 on Friday. It was hot especially at night. Fnished reading the Peter Tyler book.

Saturday Liz went to Aylesford UCM Mass with Fr Bull. I had a quiet day at home. SM sharing and Richard starts his 3 month sabbatical. What do we fear and have we felt Jesus holding our hand. Mass at Anerley.

Sunday Beck Meth Played part of Mendelssohn 6 and preludes on Nicaea by Willan and Marsh. One of the hymns would have been better on the piano! I am a new creation. Bishop Hannah's sermon and prayers far too long!

Monday Liz to art after GP. Chat to Ann. Swim only did 12. Man and Boy by Rattigan from NT - brilliant production. Collation of Jessie as new vicar at St Mark's South Norwood. Sadly she did not greet us in the hall! Nice cake. Mayor very friendly and met Green councillor for South Norwood. Only connect, Univeristy challenge.

Tuesday Liz to Guys and much happier. Fr Patrick van der Vorst video on vocation and Francis is in it. Swim only 12. Practise at Meth - Buxtehude, new LLoyd Webber, Mendelssohn, Widor. Mahler. Sandra not there so will have to show DBS next week. Quiet time led by Fr Tom. Chat to Clare. Only connect. Tribute to Carla Lane and episode of Butterflies. Wednesday to Addsicombe for Mass for deceased Norwood catenians and families. Declan and Anne Potter and 3 Croydon brothers. Fr Keith friendly as ever - it seems he did not get the list of names so I have sent them again! Coffee in the hall. To West Norwood picturehouse stunning production of Frank's El ultimo Sueno de Diego e Frida. Beautiful ending. To the Chancery for organists dinner. Jonathan Rennert spoke well. Service was a tad slow and could not eat all the mash. I had tiramisu. I woke in the night with wind trying to burp so have contacted GP. I am often tired - in fact I dropped off in Act 1 of the opera.

Thursday to art and finished the tree painting. To Wallington to collect the hanging baskets and buy more plants. Webinar on Pope Leo on AI. 227 there. Good responses to invite to Salford. Fr Dominic not had meeting with Archbishop Richard. Julie Smith has died. Only connect, University challenge.

Friday to Triniti's class but did not stay for lunch as we had dinner at St John's. Pilgirmage at home started at 4 Fr John spoke on Mary as the mystic rose and we all pinned a rose on ourselves - mine fell off and the replacement died! Mass and compline.

Saturday breakfast at 7.30 a tad early. Morning prayer. EXcellent 2 pianos concerts Stephen Dickinson. Loved the Poulenc and his piece. After lunch prepared flowers for carpet of flowers for Corpus Christi and Danny did tai dye banners. Evening prayer and a nice dinner. Compline with talk and sparklers,

Sunday Breakfast 7.45. At St John’s we sang Missa O quam gloriosum Vittoria O sacrum convivium Croce and Byrd Ave verum. The procession went round the church twice! James Gough is excellent. Parish lunch. Healing service was very calm and peaceful after the anointing. Lovely evensong and service of healing to finish pilgrimage at home. Daniel Purcell, If ye love me. Felt so peaceful after being anointed. It’s been a memorable weekend with sparklers and bread descending from above! Fr Ivor spoke well. He was on 2 week placement. Home and tired. Trading places - snowflakes in the Wild West! Margot Fonteyn on dance.

Monday chat to Ann. Liz to art. where she did flower arranging. Swam 20. Still some wind. Ann says cold milk will help as it helped Dad. To Phoenix centre and an excellent talk on US Presidents. SM was from Holy Island and Liz joined in. SEND meeting - our meeting was not mentioned again. Mary and Peter spoke well and Marianne on PEB showing. Only connect, University challenge.

Tuesday swam 20. Practise at Beck Meth and Sandra saw my DBS. Liz was upset as she forgot the embrodery for framing but she did take her silver medal to be engraved. Listened to part of the webinar on Mass for creation. Quiet time and nice chat to William about the London library. New curtain rail fitted in the lounge so we can now close the curtains again!
