The wedding

Sat cont To St Bartholomew Sydenham (a gloomy church) for Ensemble 26 concert including RVW Horn quintet a jolly work. To Mass at Sydenham Kirkdale. A baptism included and  3 of us did not hear the priest say "I baptise you....." The hearing loop was not working or switched off. I emailed him and he said he did say it so it was not invalid. Surely the point is that we should all hear the words! Frankly it was dreadful. A plastic mug on the font (yuk!) books not ready, Easter candle not lit, far too much was said. We will not go there again! All very depressing. Strictly is on again.

Woke at 4 a.m. expecting to see videos of the wedding. All we got was Paul's speech and a photo from Louise of the happy couple. Harvest festival and lunch. Played Flor Peeters on Wir plufgen and Vernon Griffiths on St George. We sang Thou visitest the earth by Green. Had a nice chat to Peregrine's wife.

I was very sleepy. Antiques roadshow, Frozen planet II, cellists at the BBC.

Monday swim. Back to UNACC but no sign of Liz's phone so a new sim card will be sent. Walk2Cop27 London meeting online. Queen of Spades from Brussels - a rather odd production! Why would the grandmother embrace Herman? To Balham Catenians only 9 there. Had pizza. Colder evening.

Tuesday swim. Posters about the phone. Essex interfaith chat. A couple of people dominated it. Nice photos from Claire. Zoom with King's interfaith group. Excellent SM lecture Sam and Lucy, Bake off and rest of University challenge.

Wed swim. Bought plant for Isabel and surgery booked blood test to be held there. Chris Myers interviewed for radio about letter to Rees-Mogg. Roger Sharp was keen for me to do it but I deflected it. Stopped taking the medicine for tummy. Meditation. Interview about new Michael Stanley book.

Thursday nice chat to Ann. Swim. To C and W for bone density scan. All on time and back at TH by 1. Rowan Williams talk. Churches trust on 15th century prelates. Cooked. To Bookseller Crow for Isabel Losada talk and a good audience who bought the book.

Friday my 76th birthday. Went for swim at 9 as Liz went to the swim doctor session. To UNACC and took small cakes. Some of the usuals were not there. No sign of the poster about the lost phone! Watched some you tube stiff about opera seasons and Kenneth Williams. We had a lovely birthday cake. Sadly the party was wrecked.

Saturday SM in Trafalgar Square with the new statues on the 4th plinth, B and S. Liz set off for the servers Mass at the cathedral despite the rail strike. CSN day on zoom with Chris Thomas was very helpful. Loved the wedding videos from Mick. Made me cry. Liz had locked the front door and gone off with my keys! The match meant the traffic was awful. I did get to West Norwood in time as I was reading. The mike had not been turned on! Server in wooly hat and white trainers! 4 hymns sung too slowly and could not understand Fr Celestine (no loop). Strictly.

Sunday Prelude on Song 13 for piano and Musette Ralph Vaughan Williams. Anthem Morning glory to Song 13. Toccata by Dubois. The young people did an excellent presentation about the climate crisis. Jerry and AnnMarie 40th wedding anniversary. Coffee and picked up Liz. Back to SJ for pets service - same music as last year - thought the end was just vulgar. Frozen planet, Young musician string final,

Monday lie-in as woke too early. Chat to Ann. Emails re public speaking, mailing list for LSIUK. Can't find videos I took of Sarah and Mark's wedding. Cancelled the public speaking only 5 entrants. Smitf lecture on journalism "What am I living for?"

Tuesday woke 1 and 3 so did not go to swimming. When I tried later the pool appears to be unavailable! Antiques roadshow. Sorted out emails especially about pubic speaking. 8 speakers from 5 schools now but still not enough as we had already told everyone it is cancelled! To quiet time and Danny told us about the refugees at Queens hotel. End of season of creation webinar.

Wed swam. Alan Driedger's funeral was lovely Norman played. Little organ mass, Justorum animae, View me Lord. A bass fest! To C and W for 4 p.m. to collect sleep monitor. The man was so laid back he told me very little. I wore it at night but found the monitor on my left hand finger very uncomfortable and so I swopped it to the right hand at 3 a.m. Took it back for 11 a.m. and was home quickly via Imperial Wharf.

Thurs swam. Churches trust on Sarum MSS. Animators zoom was good. Pam Ayres in Cotswolds. Young musician heats finished - brilliant players.

Fri swim. Packed.
