Tuesday

Swim. LMP with violinist Aki and Steve Banks on his oratorio The Blue Pearl. Bit of Essex forum. Missed World town hall Walk2Cop27. Used my ROH sub to look at a bit of Written on skin. To quiet time. Come dine, Mastermind, Only connect, University challenge, Bake off.

Wed a busy day swim. Liz to Guys. To organ recital at cathedral by the new organ scholar a blonde from USA. She plays well. Florence Price. Interfaith group 5 of us discussing Fratelli tutti. Alan kept on about education and Rita got a bit fed up with him! To National gallery. The Freud is overpriced (I paid £12) but some of his portraits are stunning. Eva Gonzalez and Manet was interesting and Turner on tour. 11 bus. Excellent meal at London Steakhouse - seemed pricey to me but it was delicious. Elizabeth Line to Farringdon and trains back to Kent House worked well.

Thursday lie-in no swim. To art and one picture finished and the other one nearly done. Liz had to deal with a phone scam pretending to be the police so changed her doctor's appointment. Cheltenham and Churches trust on disappearing villages both very good. A very good animators zoom and Westminster J and P on zoom. There is a lot going on and several screenings of "The Letter". Bruce rang. Christmas pudding being cooked!

Friday swim. Started in the slow and moved to medium when the two faster guys had gone! To St Peter Eaton Square for BBC singers recording with David Hill. Stephen Farr. Emma soloist. Francis Grier spoke about his organ work - the faster bits worked better than the meandering slow sections. Byrd, Cecilia Macdowell and Amy Beach . Karensa Briggs Requiem was lovely - plainchant, Faure in the background. At interval was in loo queue when floor manager asked some to go to the performers loo. Only 5 minutes left! Picked up my glasses from the pool - no idea what happened must have fallen out of my jacket pocket and been picked up. Luckily I have a spare pair. We got a lovely thin bookcase from James across the road - fits in perfectly. Peppermint spray and steel wool for mice

Sat SM at DePaul centre with Richard's brother. Police came about the phone scam. A visit to the Drake organ at Chelsea Old Church. I played Howells which worked well although I found the pedal board very wide! No tea. They charged £220 which is outrageous. To St Simon and St Jude and we had incense and recordings including Lloyd Webber Pie Jesu. Remembering the dead and the war dead. It was beautiful. Liz starts serving there next week so I have come off the readers rota at West Norwood. Took down all the pictures and stuff in the lounge ready for Sean to paint next week.
