Wed 6th Sept very hot again. Swim. Watched Bargain hunt. Meditation.  Rossini Il Turco from Aix en Provence. Evensong Rugby school. Cooked chorizo and potatoes for salad. Lecture by Archbishop Welby Embrace missed first 10 minutes. On reconciliation. Saw mouse in lounge. 

Thursday still hot, Swim and art - sketched 2 new paintings. LSi webinar. Good speakers. Listened to Iestyn Davies prom and rest of Turco - a clever production. SLN talk on SoC technical difficulties but a good speaker.

Friday swim and Unacc. 12 there and fan not on! Quiz is overbooked so not going. Spoke to Dot and Philhomena. ROH sub for £1 Alexander Campbell spotlight. Prom from Yarmouth. Cooked vegetarian Thai curry. Royal Liverpool PO prom. Rach and Bernstein. Bit of Figaro from Belgium ridiculous costunes.

Sat so hot! SM at Golders Hill park kept breaking up. Swk and Blackfriars. Hoovered and washed kitchen floor. Send SoP stuff through. Peter Simpson died in York - very sad news. LMP news - so much of it is way out of your leagues! To Arnolds near Uckfield (went round in a circle) Aubertin organ one of 4 in the country and met Bernard Aubertin. Brighton organists outing and some youngsters played well, Sam starts at Southampton university in 2 weeks. What a house! Huge wine cellar and grounds. How the other half live! Met WIlliam Whitehead playing this evening. Mass at Worth and Dom Paul sang it all including the psalm. Home for the Last night. Vicky doing the chaplet. Lise Davidsen was impressive and Sheku superb. Liked the VillaLobos and Mascagni. I think the searchlights and lighted bracelets detracted from the flag waving! Why Sandy Toksvig? Just because she is a friend of Marin?? She knows little about music. We hardly saw the prommers fun! Another very hot night.

Played Holst Jupiter theme and Pomp and circumstance No 1. Sara ceebrated. Young people from green group spoke well. Put up displays about choir and organ for next weekend. 3 hour chat to Jaimee - she is really nice. To Kanley airfield but too late and we had some drops of rain. To Grangewood Park picnic. Just missed Dennis and Henry. Liz at Messy church.  Avoided Mayor Perry. Playground is lovely. Home for tea and cake and rest. TV Proms highlights. Rugby school broadcasts very impressive.

Vigil

 Saturday a memorable day. SM walk in Muswell Hill. To Parliament and met up with Kate, Lyn and Graham. So many people and buggies! The tourist trade has clearly revived. Glad I took my chair and the 2 hours went quickly. Ecological Stations and Rosary and Laudate Deum meditation. William Rhind and animators came. Sean and Ciaran came and Louise and Tom went to a party in Coulsdon. We went to Mass and I spoke to the lady from CAFOD. Petition nearly at 1000! Sunday Lent 1 Played Demessieux on Attende domine which Linda and I sang. Prelude and fughetta Franck. A mosy enjoyable family lunch at Westow House. Lamb and lemon posset. Had a sleep! Evensong Howells Like as the hart. Wierd hymn Christian dost thou see them to St Andrew of Crete by Dykes. Throwdown was good. Ben Fogle in the Congo. Antiques roadshow.
