Monday swim. Emily and Mary came for cake and tea. Picked up Danny Simpson and got to St Columba's just after 3. John-Francis Friendship on Sacred Heart and purity of heart. The first talk at 8 was a bit hard to follow. Did not sleep that well - it was hot.
Tuesday 8am morning prayer and breakfast in silence. Talk 2. Walked labyrinth. It was cooler. After lunch (food very good) 20 minute walk to the golf course tunred out to be 90 minutes 3.5 miles said John when we got back but I did manage it. Sandals and stick. Talk 3 at 8. Evening prayer and compline.
Wed 8 am morning prayer. Have read a lot of J-F's book and he says he will give a discount if church want to run a course. Packed and out of room by 10. Eucharist and talk 4 at 11 and lunch at 12.30. Home by 3. To Bread for the world and the launch of Richard’s book Letters from Nazareth. Beautiful singing and so good to meet so many who I had seen on zoom. We became companions online so it was special to renew our vows.
Thursday swim and art - worked on the moose painting. Cheltenham circle prayer. To C and W for MRI of right knee. All went very smoothly. Letter to Peter's sister. Worked on October hymn list - 4 chosen we do not know and some odd choices!
Friday shortened swim and UNACC 13 there. Liz had been to spiritual director but no bus. I picked her up at Clare's. Bin found! Could not find it yesterday. Why music moves us Gresham lecture. Kensington and Chelsea TV series. Claire came, To 41 Regents Park Road for exhibition by Nelson and friends. Sara recognised me from the Mount Street auction and Dale Eaton from the Proms was there. Good way home 274 to Baker St and Metropolitan to Farringdon.
Saturday Liz went to Fr Keith's 40th anniversary Mass in East End. It was so hot. In the afternoon to Sustainability hub at Salvation Army and has sme good conversations. To Beckenham for Mass and parish day afterwards. Catenians chat to Meditation group lady and CAFOD. Fr Ashley and Fr Steve very happy to show The Letter! Strictly is back - not enough glitter?
Songs of praise and the organ recital at St John's Church, Caterham Valley went well and 2 Brownies came again to have a go on the organ. Nice displays Creativity unwrapped. I man came to sketch and I did two. The church is very ornate. I played Dad’s pieces and for Battle of Britain Sunday Walton Spitfire prelude RAF March past and Coates Dambusters March. Liz went to evensong I had a rest. One man and his dog. Who do you think you are Boy George and Michelle Keegan. Antiques roadshow.
