Buses to Euston we were early. Watched Fake or fortune on William Nicholson. Marigolds hotel in Udaipur. Tram to Radcliffe from Manchester. Gill and Chich met us and drive to Bolton. Visited loudly church of St Stephen and all martyrs Lever Bridge hot chocolate! Met Ian who taught Peter Stevens. Nice chat and meal. Sewed poppies.
Friday Gill and Chich set off for Edinburgh. Mel Plomley picked us up and All Saints Stand has a most impressive 3 manual organ and we also went to St Paul Astley Bridge where Mel plays. A Hill messed up by Cowin. Mass at St Patrick's with 2 hymns. Practised and Carole and Kevin came as flowers came. Nice soup and crumble at vegetarian kitchen. Bolton Parish church shut. finished Proms plus. To Tavernfayre in buses. Got off too early. Delicious steak and kidney pie, Lemon meringue pie. Malcolm and family. Couple who are Prommers. Uber back at 11. Slept well.
Sat a quiet morning. Elgar and Schubert from the Proms. Got wrapping paper for present which is a special cushion. Soup at the Kitchen. Rehearsed the psalm and all went well. Liz sang well and so did the congregation. Played Panis and Pachelbel. Ave Maria and Liz was a witness. Bus to environmental centre for reception. Big bottle of champagne. Good eats. Bus to Wigan Pier for 3 hour canal boat trip with pizzas. Back at 12.
Sunday took up Mel's comment about Peter Stevens' parents at Bury and set off in rain. 471 bus my freedom pass not working. Bury parish church choir and Organ good, Elgar Ave verum and Nardone A new commandment. Rhiannon the curate is Scottish and talks far too much. We do not need to be told everything that is happening next. Thorne setting very singable and we were given the music along with hymn book, service booklet and newssheet
To St Marie's where some items were accompanied but many items went flat.Gloria completely strange. Polish priest standin. Met Peter's parents and choir. They were delighted. Played Jardine organ which is not great. Extensions and no swell pedal! Tea and toast and chat about Lourdes.East Lands railways sci-fi day and steam. Bury transport museum good. Bus back. Listened to Chopin prom. Carole and Kevin came for a good dinner at I'm Gusto and for coffee.
