Louise took the boys to Priory Farm where Ciarán got lost for a while but he was very sensible.  Splendid playing from Daniel Moult and a good audience at Bromley Parish church. I'm no fan of Liszt BACH (my Mum once said never play that again when I attempted it!) and the MacMillan piece didn't work for me. The Wesley, Bach and Britton on I've got rhythm were fun. The May 9 trip to Oxford is now set up with 4 interesting organs.  Did some sketching and played Eric Coates on the piano. Liz did loads of washing for Dennis and Ann Marie. Wathced Big painting challenge, Simon Reeve in the Caribbean and the Billion dollar hotel in Dubai. 

Lie-in again so no swim. Man came to look at oven but could find nothing wrong. To art and worked on Badge and lilies. On coming home finished them in the garden as it was very warm. Scotland votes today! Hope they vote No! Returned scores to CML and Liz went to Yat's recital at Handel House. Mass in the crypt with Fr Gary Walsh and to South London catenians. The chicken was very dry and salty and sticky toffee pudding. On corner of circle of tables and South London brother near me made no effort to pass wine and water - I helped myself! £24. Liz picked me up at West Norwood. Watched an episode of Our zoo.

Woke at 4.30 so looked at some more Lourdes pilgrimage videos and photos. Swam 20 and met John so chatted about Grangewood park and the arts week. Finished the painting. Waiting for call about new bed headboard but it didn't come so rang them and they said 1.30 to 3.30 slot for delivery. John and David out. To Balham library for scores and drove to St George's Beckenham and parked free at M and S. Heard Harry Bramma play Bach, Karg-Elert and Stanford. I suppose if you get to his age you can play Sleepers wake any time but it seemed to lack flow. Home to find bed board in porch. Sudden storm but still hot and sticky. Did not sleep well - very hot. Watered garden and swam 20 and took strimmer to Ann Marie. It is their wedding anniversary today and Liz had arranged for roses to be sent. To art and painted a picture of sunflowers based on photos from Lou's kitchen. Breakfast in garden and lovely photos from Lourdes including 2 of Liz!  To the hall and excellent pre-Prom talk on the Glagolitic with 2 composers Julian Anderson. I asked about whether Mary King was right to call Janacek a humanist as he was Catholic. He was influenced by millennium event involving 40.000 people. The Brahms piano concerto No. 1 was well played by Barry Douglas but the LSO ensemble was poor. |Did Gergiev rehearse? Why such slow tempi? The Janacek was great. Watched University challenge.MAt several people including Annalisa and Peter.

Displayed 6 Roman mosaics and 2 fridge magnets plus small paintings from Esme and Rosa in the case at Thornton Heath pool. Several people said how nice they were. Because of the case I abandoned an amount of the explanations and kept it simple. Swam 20. To Thornton Heath library and helped Julie put up the paintings - I have 6 up! Looks great. Awake in night and up late so no swim. Painted above porch but unfortunately when I threw down rotten plywood from porch roof bits went on the painted bits so will have to touch it up later! Liz doing tiling. Reading for degree and listened to Songs of Praise from Pershore and for 9/11.
