Holy Week

 Wednesday Blackfriars Smitf. Nice chat to Jane Crone CAFOD East Anglia. Sisters of St Andrew. Meditatio. Repair shop X 2. Played piano and jigsaw. Final session of Bread for the world and Lent course. Yet again Michael bowled a googly and did not address the wonderings at all.  Lovely singing. Call my agent.  Maundy Thursday up late. SMITF. Bit of Chrism from Southwark cathedral. Excellent lecture on the Arena chapel Padua. Adam Field and William Collinson at Portsmouth. Sam Wells at SMITF with choral scholars. Finished Michael's book. Mass from Belmont Abbey. To Caterham and the simple service went well. Jerry quoted Go to dark Gethsamene in his sermon. I played Wordsworth on the tune.  Good Friday. Eve of Holy Week

  Nazareth community walk at the Olympic park, Blackfriars, retreat with Fr Michael Holman for Sisters of the assumption. He shared a moving article by Clare Gilbert. Mass for St Oscar Romero at St George's cathedral. Nelson was pleased with drawing. Earth hour so lights off and candles lit. We joined Allendale churches together and compline from Acton and from there. The radio 4 morning service had a good young preacher but was spoilt by 2 pop songs. Palm Sunday played Parry on Rockingham, Bach Passion chorale and Kauffman Valet. Tears of grief Bach at the end. We sang Drop drop slow tears and Sing my tongue to Pange lingua. Watched some of Upper Norwood, Blackfriars and St Mary's cathedral Sydney where they had the full sung service and not a mask in sight! Did minutes of 2 meetings. Death cafe for an hour. Interfaith

 Blackfriars. A long day on zoom with IFnetwork - a lot to take in. Day of recollection so we had silence at 12 and we shone our torches at the door at 8 but nobody else in the street did! Nelson forgot the Brague so to Glasgow for discussion with Cardinal Fitzgerald who was in my breakout room. Delightful talk about the Abbey with Dr John Hall and he answered my question really well mentioning Mark and Canon Christopher and Rabbi Julia Neuberger. Drawers off. Gresham lecture on spying for Queen and country Robert Cecil and the modern period.  Tuesday Blackfriars. An excellent retreat morning on truth at Belmont and Ignatian spirituality with Rosemary Moffat. Henry and Ann-Marie brought us delicious birthday cake from Ann-Marie's 40th. Bed changed. Organ

Sunday Back to playing at Caterham. The church felt so cold having been indoors for weeks! The livestream sounds good and the Brahms Herzliebster Jesu and Bach Fantasia in C minor are good especially considering I have only had a piano to play and no pedals! Lent 4

 Chat to Caterham folk. Henry and Ann Marie delivered a cream tea and picked up his 4th birthday cakes. Delicious. Played piano and worked on jigsaw which is hard. Gonville and Caius compline. LMP

 Tuesday Blackfriars, SMITF, delightful zoom LMP with Simon Weir about mikes and recording and cellist Sebastian, King's Lynn minster organ. Covid tests delivered and collected because of Brazilian strain locally. The fourth trug assembled while listening to Charles Francis playing at Emmanuel church Wyde Green. He's good! Quiet time. Meghan and Harry interview with Oprah - they are telling it like it is and it's a huge loss for us.  Wednesday Liz to Guys her paraproteins are down from 77 to 4 and the weight loss is water from her legs. Belmont retreat on listening to each other was excellent and included Samaritans. Rails fitted next to back door and in bathroom. Did washing and changed the bed. Hearing test

 Woke at 5 then slept to 8.30. Nazareth community walk in Crane park, Teddington with Richard's brother and dog. Blackfriars. Daniel Cook launched London organ day at Durham in style with Darke and Elgar. To St Thomas's for 1 p.m. hearing test. Not had one for 4 years and deterioration in right ear particularly so I am to have new aids but first wax must be removed. It's good Liz got the ball rolling. Everyone wearing masks on train and buses. Lots of flats around the power station. Fascinating film about the rebuild of King's Cambridge and Robert Quinney playing Mendelssohn very fast! Tuesday

 Tuesday, We both attended an excellent Lymphoma Action workshop. Blackfriars, STMIF. David at the Frick. Zoom Lourdes folk and Fr Brian and zoom with Karin about networking after GH. Brague drawing went well although Liz copped out as expected. Very tired. I did have a short walk outside to escape all these zooms. It's a sin episode 1. Recorded a video for Martin How's 90th birthday in April.  Wed wierd dream about boys attacking deacon after confirmation and a Great Dane stealing my paper! Blackfriars.
