Swim and it as very quiet despite half term. Took Henry to Phoenix centre and lots to play wth (Salvation Army music not on). Robert the piano tuner came and middle E flat was broken so he replaced it with bottom C. To pub lunch at Toby carvery. We were late but enjoyed chat with Bill, Vincent and Bernard. Quiet time and Liz went to chiropodist and later to servers council. Delivered St John's leaflets to our road and startled by dog! Saw Darren about the Hive and Death Cafe. Played Sweelinck on the piano. Blue planet live. Worked on schools list. Tasmania wildlife. Songs of Praise featuring Lucy Winkett. SS Windrush ballet.

Six provinces

Read the names of 108 deceased Catenians at the 6 provinces Mass at Westminster cathedral. Excellent lunch at the Doubletree. Grand President and Bishop Paul very good company. I had a long chat to Marcella.  Arrived to play for Evensong to find organ cipher which I could not clear so used keyboard and sang everything. I had chosen Vierne Berceuse and Epitaphe which do not need pedals. It was for All Souls. Watched new David Attenborough programme on the Earth and Poldark.

Servers supper

David Attenborough on fossils was interesting. Only one more Saturday to go - I was a couple of minutes late today. Threw out more old videos - sad to think that technology has overtaken them. To Mass at cathedral and arrived at offertory so all those dreary visits to Tooting Bec could have been avoided but I do like to be there for the whole service! Good choir from Shepton Mallet and Bach Fantasia in C minor. Excellent servers supper in the hall - starter, sausages and cake. Enjoyed chatting to Peter Stevens and Fr Michael Durand.

A busy interesting Wednesday

Up early so did blog - very hot in the night again! Heard from Rob Sceales who was in my school class - he loves music too and is a solicitor in Perth WA with his sons. The reunion is going to be fascinating. To St Edmund's Beckenham to meet Miriam Power and see 3 manual console of new Wyvern digital being installed this week - looks good. To St Michael's for Widor Symphony No 6 played by William Saunders from St. Mary-le-Tower, Ipswich. Dorio was there. There are no recitals in August. Home - had salad and strawberries for lunch. With Liz to Queen's gallery for fascinating exhibition of lovely paintings of natural history including Leonardo drawings. Excellent commentary by David Attenborough. Jennifer Scott on commentary of rest of lovely display including Faberge, miniatures, jewellery and paintings and she met us so we had a good chat. She was catechist with Liz and works in the Royal collection - lucky her! To St James Park to read magazines - Oremus, Tablet, Laudate. ...
