Watched rest of Oklahoma. Liz got leads for HDMI connections to TV. Watched Royal Ballet Woolf Works by Wayne Macgregor and music by Max Richter. I must read these novels!  Listening to John Adams Harmonielehre from prom the same extraordinary effect.  A stimulating prom on Hussite chorale theme Smetana, Martinu, Dvorak, Janacek, Suk. Tuesday we were late getting away and held up waiting for trains and buses so got to the Hall at 6.45 5 minutes after the 20 minute deadline so joined the day queue. Nearly at the door and told gallery was full and we should buy a £5 day ticket for the arena. I was furious especially at the patronising way the steward spoke to me about the ticket being good value. The principle holds that we paid to attend the concert. Stormed to the front door and Linda was on duty. She put us in the arena foyer for Beethoven 8 and then in the arena which was very full. We endured the Boulez Anthemes 2 played by Michael Barenboim and electronics and decided to go to Acton and not bother with Beethoven 7 or the late prom, Wednesday took Ciarán to Dukes Meadow and it was so hot. Liz to hospital to help Mum come home - diverticulitis was the cause. Liz stayed over night with her. I went to Coulsdon to discuss hymns up to the end of September with Vickie. It was one of those days for missing trains and buses so i was late at St Michael's for Ian Harrison's recital. He is director of music at St Stephen's Bournemouth so played Whitlock, Mendelssohn Sonata No 2 and part of the Elgar sonata. Most enjoyable. Lit candles for Mum, Dad, Grandma and Padrerob! To Westminster Cathedral for Martin Baker's recital. Saw Andrew Cessana there and Ian. A splendid evening and a good audience! Beethoven Coriolan overture really worked well with reed stabbing sounds and gentler second theme. I cna do without Jean Guillou - I am not a fan! Liszt Fantasia on "Ad nos" was beautifully played.
