He spoke of Muslims receiving communion. I recall the Holy Land where our Muslim friends shared so much but at that point we were not as one. We need to address those within our churches who are not open and welcoming. Pope Francis has much to say on this. Evensong for All Souls. Played Nimrod, Vierne Epitaphe and Solemn melody.14 there. Swim and Mass for All Saints. To Croydon Whitgift centre for card and books.  To the morning session of spirituality day at the cathedral with Roger on the prodigal son.Saw Anne-Marie and Louise about cathedral children's guides and took photos of mosaics featuring birds, animals and fish. Met Francis in the street -  he changed the hangars for Abi and Joseph's cassocks so now I have to produce 2 more labelled ones! How petty! Took documents to school now they need 2 references! Boys home.  Enjoyed God of carnage at South London theatre at Stanley Halls and  Dennis Woodhouse  came too. I have joined as a member. It was very funny. The apprentice. 

Swam 20 and Liz came as well. At mosaic painted two more tiles as kiln not working. We did Qi'gong and Wild goose Qi'gong. Did some shopping and emails. Not happy with Jerry changing muisc list, wanting me to pay deputy and not keeping me properly informed, Resolved in the end but if things go on like this.... To East Acton and took Ciaran on underground and then DLR which he loved to Cutty Sark stop. Walked to Greenwich theatre to see Michael Rosen's Great big bear hunt which was brilliant. Very close to the book with puppets and songs and cast of 4 - excellent show. To lovely sausage shop opposite. Came back on the clipper on the river and then underground from Embankment and train to Acton. Ciaran had a great day and we all slept well. Watched Question of sport. Thursday Louise was working and it was damp so James came to play for a bit and later they were going out trick or treat. I served at 5.30 mass with Fr Paolo and the men sang a nice Grandi mass. First Mass of All Saints. To the Tablet lecture by Robert Mickens but being in the gallery it was hard to hear clearly and loop not on. Nice reception and saw Jenny Mitchener, Diana Klein, Mike, Hannah and told Catherine Pepinster I loved the Tablet. The talk itself was a little disappointing. 

Went to Heythrop for Mass for All Saints day at 1.30 p.m. with a delightful priest smiling all the time - literally being the gospel he was preaching! Had a nice lunch. Did some more work on William James for the essay. At 5 met 3 others in the dining room including Michael the ex-diplomat. To Rahner room at 5.30 to find out how to submit essays. Looks straightforward. First lecture on the dreaded Charles Taylor A Secular age and it looks a huge tome so decided to buy it - got Amazon discount with student card £22. Chat to other students revealed that insider/outsider is not acceptable for the essay so spoke to Damian who apologised and confirmed it so all that work for nothing! Not a happy bunny. It seems that we are fortunate to have lecturers posting on Helios as some older lectureres will not use it so if you miss a lecture you have had it! Friday missed swim again. More at practice and started on some carols after doing all the November music. I have started reading the new Alexander McCall Smith book and also the third Corduroy Mansions book online from the Telegraph. Saturday woke late and in for 10 a.m. There is no point in being too early and not getting the time back. Sent Meryl an email about the need for a new desk as we were very busy with queues. Have started getting rid of old videos and clearing up - only a month to go. To Tooting Bec for first Mass of All Saints with a visiting priest elderly but pleasant and he spoke about his family in the homily. Good programme on BBC on Piero della Francesca's Baptism.
