Tuesday to organists supper at West Wickham URC hall. Only £10 and good company. I drove to Kent House because of the strike and got to Acton by 10.45 to watch The Apprentice the final 5. Wednesday took Sean n bus and train to Watermans for Snow play - 2 actors brilliantly reacting. Had lunch there. To Kent House to get car and Kevin's drinks at The Crown Shirley. The 6 of us won champagne 2nd prize in the pub quiz. I got a bit bored near the end! Liz was at servers council dinner.

Saturday to cathedral for 12.30 p.m. with the Archbishop to celebrate 20th anniversary of Slovenian independence. I was acolyte, boat and book! Only 3 servers with Paul. Started with Oh Lord my God and ended with O worship the King. Good choir and soprano soloist who surprisingly sang the National anthem which was rather tuneful. The Acrhbishop of Ljubljana spoke rather too long as did a priest and then a presentation to the Archbishop.I recalled my visit to that city in 1959, I returned home for lunch and then took car to Bromley Parish church and train back to Victoria. Smoke vespers and Mass with Fr Tim who is to retire to Rickmansworth. Swavek is off to Enfield and Kingsley is going too. The diocesan children's choir were dire in Panis angelicus again! Train to Bromley South and bus and arrived at the Parish church at 8 p.m. Dennis was already there. Very nice meal and 42 there. Carl Jackson spoke well and so did Venerable Peter Lock who loves Beyond the Fringe. Home at 11 p.m...

Just been working on plans for next year and trying to fit in 3 organs in Holborn on March 27th. Spoke to Ann and looked at the lovely photos on facebook from Claire's 21st. Bad duststorm in Sydney also featured on Facebook. Also discovered Edward Davey's blog and SSG correspondence following PMM.

President’s report Bromley and Croydon District Organists’ and Choirmasters’ Association for AGM April 25 2009 Let me begin by apologising for not being with you today – I have triple-dated myself! Looking over the season I am sorry to note that meetings have, despite my best efforts, too often fallen on days when I am working in the library and I have been sad to miss them. I am grateful to our indefatigable secretary for keeping us all in touch and doing so much to organise our events. Thank you Christopher! In September members visited the 3 manual Hill organ at St Dunstan’s, Bellingham and followed this in October with a visit to Dulwich. I have heard Norman Harper play the Robin Jennings organ in the Old library at Dulwich College and it is an interesting instrument. The visit concluded at St Stephen’s, Dulwich. The October 29th visit to the Welte Player organ at Salomons, Tunbridge Wells was delightful and shows that members will come on a weekday visit in half term! In November ...
