Swim, Mass, coffee, visited John at hospice and Sidney and Roger were there. Gave a tour of the cathedral for Council of Christians and Jews. Diana Mills gave an excellent talk on Amos trust in Palestine. Catriona joined us. Watching Repair shop. 

Woke too late to swim. Liz went to Kendal. To Mass. Moved to tears by the Dementia choir on BBC - so marvellous to think that music can help dementia. Watched Repair shop. To 220 Upper Tooting Rd for iftar hosted by Labour party.  Rizwan, Malik and Kate were there. Great food and company - enjoyed meeting Sofia and Peter. 

Swam, Mass, Henry came and played in the garden for ages and with the track. Made the shopping trolley. I was tired! Missed quiet time and "Tolkien". The repair shop series is a delight. 

Swam and Mass together. Jeremiah Stephenson stepped in at short notice at St Michael Cornhill and played really well. Lucky All Saints Margaret Street! He has declared himself transgender on Facebook. He plays really well - Bach and Mozart. Met Liz at Aldi. The repair shop back on TV - very touching! Enjoying Only Connect and University challenge. The house in Newcastle upon Tyne. Put together the exercise bike and Liz returned from UCM Anerley to find it ready. 

Car back and has been cleaned as well. Trevor moved the seat. Got petrol for Kia as did not know where the button was! Ben at osteopath. One of the comments on the Bonnard at Tate Modern "just a load of pretty pictures". A little unfair. He certainly knew about colour although not so good on faces! Enjoyable servers dinner at Brook Green with Archbishop George Stack. Michael Chute is now an equestrian Knight of St Gregory and may park his horse in St Peter's Square! The uniform costs £800! Liz went to Acton as at servers Mass in Birmingham on Saturday. Left 9.30 home 11.15. Sat. Drove to Caterham Repair cafe at St Lawrence's and James fixed 2 clocks the musical one and the one with the photos. Very pleased! 

Swam, Mass, coffee (I think the list for the Christmas lunch was not well handled - it made it feel like that one was an extra and we will not be going.I went last year.) Petrol. Quiet day watching Repair shop and listening to evensongs from Blackburn and Armagh. Catherine Ennis played well at the cathedral with a good audience. A treat to have the Parry and Reger Sonata No. 2. Even Thomas Trotter was there! The Apprentice was good.

Up early. To first half of Jay Bevan's clarinet recital at St John's. Served at National Mass for servers with Bishop John Sherrington. Rebecca seemed to be everywhere. Nick asked for 2 to step down as others had been asked to do offertory. He should not have done that! Tea then back for vespers and Mass. Catching up on Repair shop and Songs of Praise and amid much crap we got Sir Bryn Terfel singing about trees! I met the new priest at the cathedral. 

The dementia talk underlined that the brain has two modes -so one half can forget people but the other half has a feeling of wellbeing and happiness as the result of a visit. So it is vital to keep visiting those who appear not to know you. Does the same thing apply when someone is very ill or dying? Talking to the person can break through in some way. Did this happen when Jesus said "Mary" to Mary Magdalene? Recognition came at the supper at Emmaus from an action. I have been reading "The grace of waiting" by Margaret Whipp and she has much to say about waiting with those who are ill. Palm Sunday played Bach and we sang Drop drop and To mock your reign. The way of the cross at St John Upper Norwood was beautiful. Monteverdi, Walton Litany, Monteverdi, Parry on Rockingham, Bach and Philip Moore. The Durrells and the repair shop.
