I w as relieved that Chris Walker's Stay Awake replaced The virgin Mary had a baby boy this morning - the calypso accompaniment is tricky. I played Pachelbel Von himmel hoch. A lovely recital by Robert Munns at St Augustine Grove Park at 6.30 of Advent music including Karg-Elert, Peeters, Buxtehude, Bach, Coleman and Leighton. There was a tombola and eats after service. I drove to Snakes and ladders at Sion House. I was late as I ended up going through Richmond.  A very nice party for Ciarán.

Corpus Christi procession after Mass. Fr Paul was amazed that people did not kneel during adoration. I played Boellmann, Bedard and Stanley. 24 came to the duo recital by Robert Munns (he is 81 and did not recognise me) and Brian Newman. I felt the modern pieces worked better than the Schubert and Mozart which seemed rather dull. Liz came along later. Lovely programme on Glyndebourne and Rosenkavalier on BBC4.

To St John's for organists association AGM - I did not stay for the actual meeting! Richard Pilliner and Norman Harper were there and nice that Fr John welcomed us. I gave out the posters for the recitals. Adrian gave an excellent recital showing off the organ's many colours - it included Tommy's Intrada, Howells, Whitlock, Cocker Tuba tune, Bach and Dupre. Nice tea with cupcakes. Vespers and Mass with Fr Paolo. Met Robert Munns and his wife before he practised for his recital. He walks with a stick but talked about Fr Matthias now 85 and Fr Farmer's sister.  Finished the Pierce book. Louise had arrived with Ciaran. Much discussion about where Bruce is to stay!

To Grandma's with lunch from Marks and Spencer for £15 - beef, vegetables, Chilean red wine and berries in jelly. To St Augustine's Grove Park for recital by Robert Munns and Sally Johnson marking anniversaries - Haydn, Handel, Mendelssohn, Purcell, Avison, Eben, Mathias, Ireland and Bridge. A good concert well thought out. Watched The No 1 ladies detective agency - delightful! Monday 34 lengths. To tai chi. To St George's Beckenham to see Nigel Groome with Vicky and John. Met some Catenians on way to Beckenham meeting! A positive and helpful meeting.

Up early and completed Oxford trip booklet draft. The service at Coulsdon went smoothly. Vickie was ill so Theresa stepped in. There were 2 baptisms and the second baby really yelled! The Richard Jones Mass for Hilary has an awkward ending and this did not quite come off in tune. He is now Jo Richards. Vaughan Williams Come my way and Bach's "Christians shout with joy" both went well. I played voluntaries on "St Fulbert" by Douglas Guest and Philip Moore. I attended the AGM and annual meeting. The music costs about £3800 a year which is a bargain! I asked about the insurance on the organ and this will be checked. There are 106 on the electoral roll. Spent the afternoon tidying up, hoovering and cleaning the kitchen floor. Watched a programme about a man who wants to bring wild mammals back to the Scottish highlands.
