Henry

Picked up sample tube from GP surgery. Henry played happily with train, put up cards, drawing round stencil and stories. Liz went shopping and to quiet time. Saw mouse in lounge so set 4 traps. Watched Mary Berry with Duke and Duchess of Cambridge including  the Passage.  Only connect was good. To St Edmund's Beckenham for the choir rehearsal for Fr Tom's funeral. Good selection of music. Good to see Andrew and Miriam again. Richard Warren conducted.

Rose

We sang Creator of the stars of night arranged John Scott. I played Bairstow and Sumsion on Veni Emmanuel and Flor Peeters on Conditor alme. A train full of noisy loud 20 something's. Nice lunch. One of my Advent meditation books makes the good point that Paul's "Rejoice in the Lord always!" is an impossible idea. However the way forward is to be grateful for everything and turn that into prayer and joy will follow. Watched Mary Berry at Goodwood house and showjumping from Olympia. For evensong played Willan on Bristol and Flor Peeters on St Stephen and Wachet auf. Very annoyed to find that my parking place outside my house has been taken and for the second time the bollards have gone as well! How dare they take them away! Sports non personalityof the year. Sir Mo won. Liz gone to Clare's. Ciaran playing his new guitar on Whatsapp. Apprentice joint winners!

Va pensiero went well and I managed all the sharps F sharp major. Congregation big and really sang I cannot tell, Be still my soul, Guide me. Priya from Sri Lanka. His wife comes to 8 o clock. Got 12.05 train only to find train at Norwood Junction cancelled so abandoned going to interfaith lunch and went to Balham library via East Croydon and Clapham Junction. Reading

Saturday was an enjoyable day in Reading. William McVicar demonstrated the fine organ in the Town hall an untouched Willis with amusing anecdotes and Norman Harper demonstrating. There was time to see the copy of the Bayeux tapestry and the museum and lunch there. Quite a walk to and from St Giles but a fine Bishop organ in a very High Church building. Got to Mass in good time and Brian was doing the first scrutiny presenting the Creed. I haled mike and Michael the book. Went well. Fr Martin got me to take communion to the choir Byron consort from Harrow school and they sang Poulenc really well. Liz was at the hospital. Watched end of Big painting challenge Suman won, Pottery challenge was good too. Tired out. Maundy Thursday

Swam 20. Saw a mouse last night in the lounge - Liz saw it in the dining room the other evening so reset 3 traps. To art and worked on Venice picture. To Streatham only to find interfaith lunch is next week! Watched Mary Berry's Easter feast, art of Scandinavia and Songs of Praise. Also had a lie-down! Liz baking Hot cross buns. Had a quiet day and watched Father Brown, Great interior design challenge and Mary Berry's Easter feast.
