Did a lot of work on the family tree and added photos and lots of information and new connections. It seems Mary Ann Botterill was married twice - she certainly was a remarkable woman. Went to Addiscombe for second session with Canon Frank and John Stradling. It was stimulating. How can we make our parishes into joyful evangelising communities? Bishops have a difficult task and sometimes send the wrong priest to a parish in the sense of changing everything! We could use music more to attract and outreach. Lyn is in hospital so no lunch on Tuesday. 

Seán clearly copied Ann and Paul and John! I went to opticians and they fixed my lens. I led the spirituality day -not so many there and people left early because of the Rowan Williams event. To Tate Britain friends room afterwards - horrid installation in the Duveen galleries. To cathedral hall for Silence in the City and Rowan Williams was great! He mentioned organists and answered my question about silence in the liturgy as done by Pope Benedict very well. Space round the words and movements, space in the psalms as well. Pam Winters and Elizabeth West were there! Lovely to see them again.

Swam 21 hovered and put washing away. To Turnham Green for Jonathan's clever programme on light Handel, Buxtehude, Vierne and the Glow worm! 3 pm Barbara's funeral at Beckenham crematorium. We sang Morning has broken to a tape and Nat King Cole Unforgettable. Oddly the coffin did not disappear! It was all a bit subdued for such a happy person. To the pub on Anerley Hill for nice eats although my sausage roll was definitely off! To ACTA Westminster at Holy Apostles Pimlico. Met John Wilkins former editor of the Tablet and Martin Pendergast was there. Julian Filochowski gave us an impassioned talk on Evangelii Gaudium. There were 20 there not as many as at the previous meeting and there had been correspondence with the Cardinal.
