This is a much darker play than part 1 with a sick and dying king poisoning the country. Home for a meal and then both to the dentist. Metal plate which is very light fitted and 2 more sessions. Have paid. Traffic bad but we got to Selhurst by 6 p.m. We waited 40 minutes for a train to Balham and as a result missed the first 5 minutes of Manon Lescaut from the Opera House. Great singing especially Kaufman and Pappano conducting. The modern setting worked apart from the scene of the shipping of prostitutes to Louisiana unless this was meant as a comment on human trafficking. We got to Acton around 11. To school picnic and Sean loved running about the playground and the chickens. To soft play and lunch at Osterley garden centre. To Brixton...

Played for funeral at Purley which was a Latin requiem said by Fr Michael Clifton of blog fame. Alas he did not use mike and most of it was inaudible. The Allen digital is not great. To preProm on Judas Maccabeus and a good performance with John Mark Ainsley and Christopher Purves on great form and good chorus.Adrian and Terence came for a chat. Saw Roy Parker the night before.  Friday watched excellent King Henry IV part two and programme on Vermeer.

Saturday did not go to interfaith walk around Thornton Heath. The new green leather suite arrived. Hoovered, haircuts, tidying up. To 7 Shakespeare Road Acton to see the house Lou and Tom are to rent from next Saturday - very nice. Had a lovely picnic in the park nearby. To the cathedral with Dennis and Bruce stayed overnight. Vespers and Mass and Edward, Emmanuel and Joseph got their servers medals from Canon Christopher and the Dean of Durban preached. Sunday to Coulsdon. We can have St Mary's hall on Friday. I played Grandma's favourite "Sheep may safely graze" instead of the Dorian toccata. Only 4 in choir and they sang Bairstow and Boyce Alleluia. Straight to London Bridge on train to get to the Globe for 1 p.m. show. Bruce and I thoroughly enjoyed the play - Falstaff, Hal, Shallow all excellent and very clever costume changes. Liz to evensong and Bruce off to Birmingham and Dennis and Ann-Marie to Burnley. They all return on Thursday.
