AgeUK art group enjoyed the exhibition and art in Farm Street church. Mass at the cathedral. Catholic Times half a page on Journeys in hope. We both enjoyed David Copperfield at West Norwood Picturehouse some delightful performances. Took Liz to maths after dinner and she goes to Acton for 2 nights.Thursday the day of the auction swim, art, interfaith lunch and commitee. Phil not doing a good job as chair. He brought Ivor to see the show. Not as many came as expected but we still sold nearly all the pictures. 3 of mine came home. £6000! Nelson 2 portraits. Jennifer Scott was lovely and said the work is beautiful!  Met Alex Roch at Farm Street and we watched videos from last night. Took glasses back to Majestic and pictures to the cathedral. Swam 20. Liz went to osteopath and got painkillers from doctor. Chris finished painting back wall. To art and worked on the bottles project and showed Julie one of 6 mosaics for display. To the Globe and met Andrew Gaitskell who bought the ticket - very pleasant. Antony and Cleopatra was very well done - Cleopatra seemed very modern! Enobarbus was good. I found it a good idea to have the text open as did not always hear everything clearly! To Tate Modern to see the Matisse cutouts which are lovely. Met Pauline and Sean Kirwan. Rehearsal for confirmation went well. Liz went back to Acton and I watched programme on women in art which featured Jennifer Scott.

Up early so did blog - very hot in the night again! Heard from Rob Sceales who was in my school class - he loves music too and is a solicitor in Perth WA with his sons. The reunion is going to be fascinating. To St Edmund's Beckenham to meet Miriam Power and see 3 manual console of new Wyvern digital being installed this week - looks good. To St Michael's for Widor Symphony No 6 played by William Saunders from St. Mary-le-Tower, Ipswich. Dorio was there. There are no recitals in August. Home - had salad and strawberries for lunch. With Liz to Queen's gallery for fascinating exhibition of lovely paintings of natural history including Leonardo drawings. Excellent commentary by David Attenborough. Jennifer Scott on commentary of rest of lovely display including Faberge, miniatures, jewellery and paintings and she met us so we had a good chat.
