Up early but cancelled train meant I got to the library after 10. However I added a lot of non-fiction. Samuel Ali stood in at Bedford Park and played well. It would have been good to used the pedal Reed less and finish in G major but not to detract from his skill.  busy afternoon welcoming at the cathedral. 2 requests re Diana! The 3 children's guides look great. To Queen's gallery for lovely Charles 11 and the audio worked well on the loop. My entry converted to 1 year pass! To Holy Trinity Brook Green for celebration Mass Michael Chute has been serving there for 60 years. Archbishop George Stack gave a fine homily

Very enjoyable visits to organs in Long Ditton, Epsom and Ewell lunch at King's Head. St Martin of Tours has a very fine organ indeed. Only heard start of Jonathan's Durufle at Ewell as i went to get train at Ewell West.  John Scott played brilliantly at Bloomsbury Baptist. Shaftesbury Ave closed so Leicester Square very crowded! The Prom was good - Bryn Terfel in Fiddler on the roof. I was surprised how much dialogue there was and I missed quite a lot of it!    Some of the weekend pass prommers pushed past us in the queue! We heard about 2 vicars of Long Ditton who survived from Edward VI to Elizabeth and the other one from Charles I to Charles II with Cromwell giving money to the church! I played some Andrew Moore and enjoyed it. Excellent steak and ale pie and Youngs bitter at lunch. Home at 11.30. Liz at Acton having served Mass and off to Lourdes in the morning. This time she is helping feed the sick as well as serving!

Swam 21. I think I have gained weight having not been at the pool for a week! To Watermans and Ciaran really enjoyed the session with Merle. To Sainsburys for fish and chips then I left to get to the Hinsley room in good time. Excellent first session on Sharing Eden with David and Natan 2 of the authors giving invaluable insights. To Marks for tea and toasted sandwich. Chat to Francis and Michael and then to Peter Ste vens recital which was excellent and a reasonable audience. Bach, Buxtehude, Franck, Fricker, Messiaen and Durufle. Rosa and Fr Dominic were there - results not posted until Friday - most annoying!
