Lovely exhibition of Sir Alfred Munnings at the National army museum and I enjoyed sketching horses. Interesting that Munnings thought it easier to paint a cow rather than a horse! Enjoyable party after Mass end of marriage preparation course great to see Mark Doran and Isobel. Fr Daniel on great form. Excellent homily and Peter Stevens played toccata from Widor symphony No. 2. Now have Henry and Emma on the family clock photos. Popular Royals and royal spending. Woke at 8.22 and checked website thinking the course started at 9. It actually started at 10 at St Margaret's Westminster and there were only 8 on it. Adam Boulter is Anglican chaplain at Al-Aqaba for the Missions to Seamen and Hatta is his mother-in-law! It was an inspiring day and we used grey background and erasers to take the grey away. I did 3 drawings 2 on the theme of Jacob at Bethel. Could the ladder to heaven have been a stone one? Nice lunch provided as well! The lay clerks sang evensong - Ives and Tallis and a Bruckner prelude and fugue. Tea at Pret with Liz who served at rite of election. Fr Alexander and we had a full compliment of servers. After Mass I picked up on boat and acolytes neatening up their movements. Mark and Isobel met us and we had a delightful meal at Zizzi. I had calzone and lemon meringue sundae. Have given up alcohol for Lent.

Swam 20 and Liz came. To mosaic - the project has changed from Sean to SLCT at Louise's suggestion so E became L! Tai chi and gave out details of marathon. A model of the Peabody estate was on show but no clear sign of a community centre for us to use but there will be one! Werther on the radio from the Met. To confirmation class which was on vocation and we heard from John a Scottish Franciscan and Mark Doran bless him. Tuesday swan 20 and went to church to look for scores but Guilmant, Gigout and Mozart were not there after all! To  Clapham Picture house to see Werther from the Met. Kaufman and Sophie Koch were brilliant both acting and singing.

Tuesday I finished at 2 and went to the hospital. Grandma was agitated and I changed her hearing aid battery. She kept trying to pull the lines out so I repositioned her rosary so she had something to hold. To the cathedral for the Volunteers Mass on the feast of St Thomas More and St John Fisher. Phil Roberts was there. The boys sang well and I was consecration torch. Liz was late. Nice canapes in hall. Good to see Mark Doran who is working hard on the Papal visit. To Battersea Park library for a well attended talk by the US Embassy Press attache Philip. Knew most of the people there. IT not working again. Andrew Green thanked me for coming and made useful contact with Economic development office people. So nice to see everyone again. Library looking good.

To the tip on the way to church to dump old compost. As I had my newly cleaned best suit on I donned an apron - there were 2 long queues of cars so I was a little delayed but picked up 2 ladies for church at bus stop as a result. I played Wyton and Thiman on Veni creator and we sang "Spirit of the living God" as an introit. Straight to cathedral for 12.1 5 confirmation with Archbishop Vincent. Liz read the sequence very poetically and a splendid homily without notes. Stunning improvisations from Edward Tambling on Veni creator and I thought Mahler's Adagietto was creeping in too - mind you I am worrying that my copy of that is lost which I need next month! Had a lie-in and a sumptuous breakfast. Stayed till lunchtime so clear up. Flo and Tom went with Louise and Tom and Alice. Some great dancing last night from Jeremy who was in Chicken shed company for a few years! Dennis and Ann Marie emerged from the signal box suite wearing matching Just married T shirts! Eventually set off for the hill of Tara where we saw an audio-visual presentation in the church. Then via Navan to Tara - nice b and b Castleview. had a walk to look at shops and village and the reordered Catholic church. Excellent meal at The Poet's rest and drove up the hill where the first Easter fire was lit by Patrick according to legend. Have been there before - great view. Saturday drove to airport on M1 and handed car in. New company had taken over disabled assistance that day but they did well apart from an anxious delay waiting for the buggy.
