Grenfell Tower

Swam and Mass. Grenfell Tower memorial service from St Paul's is going to be very moving. Be still my soul and Fr Gerard Skinner and representative from the mosque carrying the Grenfell banner. St Paul's service beautiful and very moving especially the children. Giles Fraser on this old heart of mine radio 4. To Design museum to see Beazley designs of the year (I voted for a new typeface for all languages),Ferrari and Jon Snow ties. Tea and mince pie at Marks.  Prof Frank Clooney SJ brilliant on 4 Jesuits in India at Heythrop. Good to see old friends.Michael Redman, Sylvia MacDonald, Fr Malachy.

Liz to retreat day at Heythrop. I spoke to Lyn and met Judy in street on way to station to get train to Wapping. As I came out of the station I turned right which was wrong. Somebody called "Hello" and it was Archbishop Kevin and he had a map so we walked together and discussed the Jordan conference he went to. He mentioned Addiscombe. The talk became a dialogue and was most stimulating. He used the "I'm OK, You're OK" paradigm and said we should aim for all saying in dialogue "We're not OK". He also gave us a useful comparison of Judaism, Islam and Christianity based more on the Word of God rather than People of the Scripture. So our language is body language and we need to express the love we should feel for others. Many of my class were there and so was Alfred Agius. Modern organ works

At practice last night delighted that Vickie joined the sopranos. We rehearsed "Rejoice in the Lord alway" and worked on diction in the carols. Louise came to stay overnight to borrow the car to go to Basingstoke for Rufus's birthday party - she had her work do and looked very glam. Ciarán did not like her silver shoes! To St Laurence Catford and arrived early. Michael Bonaventure played Games by Paul Patterson (enormous score) and a piece called The Swim which did nothing for me and Toccata by David Bedford who died this year. Coffee afterwards and interesting chat to choir member on art. To Heythrop for end of term party of Liz's course. Jon Dal Din came and good chat to Fr Dominic Robinson. Friendly bunch and loads to eat and drink. Did some more reading and Liz came home with tummy trouble from milk last night. I served at Mass and Fr Gerard sang beautifully (in pink).
