Knee

 Thursday not a happy time with Dr Ojo. In fact he annoyed me by not reading all 3 emails. In the end I am to go to Mayday for spine MRI but not for the knee because I am over 60! Chelsea and Westminster will contact me. I was not happy and told him I was worried after Sunday morning when I nearly thought my knee was going to give in. Liz to gym and I went to art. People gave me contributions for Liz's walk for WMUK. Churches Trust about eccentric clergy was good. Beko's seated tai chi is very good. March music list done. Liz went to Clare's. Apprentice was good.  Friday swam 20. B, SM and S. Painting. Applications to hospitals for records. Watched Dance Passion 2022. Nice bright day. BBC singers at Keble college. Jigsaw. Les Eclairs by Hersant from Opera comique - very listenable.  Saturday B and S. Nazareth walk from the Thames and St Katherine's retreat. Hurtado on temptations of Christ. Painting. Opera favourites. Discussed holidays, etc.  Sunday  Lovely sunny day.

Henry

 Saturday. Nazareth walk among daffodils. S and B. Henry came as Dennis had to go to UCH. Painting and playing games. Rest of Handel Alcina from Opera North. Margaret Rutherford. Guards.  Sunday played Bliss Royal fanfares and Harris Processional March. We sang Rutter Gaelic blessing. B. Call the midwife resolved well and pottery throwdown was great. Winter Olympics closing ceremony.  Monday windy again so no swim. SM, S and B. Some more painting. Excellent NT All about Eve. SM memorial service for Desmond Tutu. SM meditation  on Dear Lord and Father of mankind. Bought RA summer exhibition entry. University challenge. We were both grumpy today. Liz to UCM.  Tuesday Swam 20. B, SM and S. Painting finished and submitted. Result April 6. Entry on Bishops conference website finally sorted. Essex chat. Abp of Canterbury interviewing Elif Shafak. Forgot quiet time! Jigsaw. Half term

 Swan 20. Pool quite busy. Liz to zumba. I did exercises with Bobby online. Quite energetic. Colette's meeting with Bishop John. Really enjoyed 50 years of the NT from 2013. Henry arrived and Dennis announced it was for 2 nights! He had a bath and went off to sleep quickly. University challenge.  Tuesday S and B. Took Henry to All Saints for day. Belmont retreat on Luke.  LMP zoom. Andy Cole on trombone. Gresham lecture on the Oil shocks and the economy. Zoom about Southwark diocesan Lent groups. They had assumed we have zoom with breakout rooms! As it happens I had to rebook all my zoom meetings as I can no longer use Bruce's one. Gresham exploring the deep sea.  Wed B and S. Henry to All Saints. He seemed quite subdued! Good chat to Clare. Meditation. Watching Winter Olympics and Watercolour challenge. Took Henry's case to Glyn Close. Meeting at St Matthew's West Norwood about Root and Branch. Liz to St Chad's for mass. SSG zoom on the readings in Lent was helpful

Hungary

 To Xray. There was a delay and she had to do the side view of my right knee again. I was back by 9.10. To art and a good start of painting No 3! Churches trust on churches in Gotland Sweden. Gresham lecture by Prof Whitty on infectious diseases. A very good animators zoom with Tristan from Hungarian govt telling us about their aid to persecuted religious communities. Some discussion of the Synod process which is non-existent in Hungary! Benson and Francis joined us from Africa. Lecture on Prokofiev the Soviet artist. The Apprentice was good.  Friday B, SM and S. Swam 20. To IKEA car park and catalytic converter now marked and on national database. Done free by the police. Westminster Abbey Sunday a.m. service for Accession. Put mugs and pictures back in dining room. SMITF tea. Sent in Synod response to Westminster, Southwark meeting finalised the response which is comprehensive. Would I lie to you? was good. Sat excellent talk by Francis Sullivan to Root and branch on coverup. SM, S a

Portsmouth

  We had a lovely stay at Langstone Hotel Hayling Island. Excellent food, large pool and creek view from our room. On Friday we were at evensong in Portsmouth cathedral music by John Amner. Saturday to Gosport. Submarine museum fascinating and HMS Alliance then Explosion and the Night raiders. Sunday we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the accession of the Queen at Portsmouth cathedral. We wait for thy loving kindness Mckie and I was glad with the Vivats. Lovely to see David Price and Portsmouth Cathedral Choir on stunning form. Sunday afternoon Spinnaker Tower and D-day museum. The landing craft restoration is amazing. At last I got to play Guildford cathedral organ! Katherine Dienes-Williams was so kind to give us her time and help. Harris, FJ, Philip Moore, Bliss and Crown Imperial! FJ

 SM and S. Took Liz to B and Q and she saw Chris Henley (7 grandchildren!) I collected my shoe from Wallington (had to go to cash machine). We were back in good time. Rest of Christmas tree put away. Francis's funeral was just right and very special. The Minster looked fabulous without about 200 there. Bach was featured. FJ's East Acklam and the voluntary based on it. SSWesley anthem and lovely chanting. An excellent tribute by the retired Bishop of Beverley human and humorous catching the essence of the great man. How shall I sing the tuba on the last verse thrilling! Bairstow's "Jesu grant me this I pray" at the end. Cheltenham meeting about Storm of hope. Churches trust on Suffolk gravestones. Did the submission for the Westminster synod first draft and Virginia had sent LSi' quotes. St Martin Candlemas service. Prof Thomas Gresham lecture on the Brixton riots.
