For the second time big black car parked by woman in our place and bollards moved. Jeanette was rude to Liz abut this.  To St Cecilia's North Cheam for funeral of Laurence Jones who was 90. Lunch at Victoria and Albert sweet potato with avocado. Sat at a table with a lady between two women who talked non stop over a cup of coffee with people looking for seats. Cannot get worked up about plywood but the Constables are great and were recently on BBC Fake or fortune.  2 splendid proms -Renee Fleming gave us two encores and was superb! Nielsen 2 a great work. Chineke! and Sheku excellent. Home at 12.30. Thursday to Mass. 

Liz went to get her hair done. Chat to Ann. To mosaic and made good progress - nice cards and presents. We had a lovely lunch at Fish in a tie. I had calamari and salmon and by preordering left in good time to get a 319 to Sloane Square. Ciaran wasn't well so Louise took my ticket and I enjoyed the Constable exhibtion at the V and A. Also saw the redone Italican cast court. My right knee was playing up and trains were in disarray. Watched Canterbry cathedral series 1 and art in winter.

Played Peeters and Willan on Song 1 and Thiman on Thornbury to mark Week of prayer for Christian Unity which has been very low key this year. Also Walther on Jesu meine freude. I started indexing Alan's music and found some treasures by Whitlock and Tallis. Got quite cold in church! The storm last night caused damage to the roof at Glyn Close - probably lightning. Nice lunch and Liz sorting out under the stairs. Clare came yesterday to get the cutting about the Pope and breastfeeding from The Tablet. Interesting programme on Hidden Kingdoms in the woods and Songs of Praise featuring a church changed into a soft play area. Programme on Toye family of regalia makers and Fake or Fortune on Constable. Enjoyed Call the midwife and watched Christmas lecture about cells.

Swam 20. Finishing touches to Clooney coursework. Sang at Mass and we did de Severac Tantum ergo - gorgeous. Jerry thanked me for singing - he too graduates next year! Good homily by Fr Peter Gallagher. Having lunch and met a Muslim MA philosophy student who suggested some Sufi wrters for my dissertation subject! To Royal Academy for the Gainsborough, Turner and Constable exhibition. The Constables stood out! Back for meal and more reading on modern Hinduism. Martin Ganeri actually asked a question this evening. Got wide choice of essay topics. Red wine and then to pub and Michael Barnes came for a while. John Park (from South Korea) as incomprehensible as ever! Home at 11.20. Liz had been at John Lewis carol service and meeting with Tony and Ausra.
