Office of readings from South Ruislip.  Tenebrae from Blackfriars Oxford.  enjoyed the last part of Pilgrimage to Istanbul last night. The Sufis were amazing.  Finished reading Say Yes to Life Ruth Valerio's excellent Archbishop of Canterbury Lent book 2020.  Easter from King's was very different and enjoyed it especially the Wesley and Bob Chilcott . Great to have lots of Charles Wood. The Guite poem was beautiful.  Enjoyed the Vigil from the cathedral lovely singing and a wonderful homily. Super organ at the end!  Lent is over (and it seems to have been a long time this year - I have been home since 11/3 a month). Wine opened! St John's from the vicarage. Strange to be at home in the dark with a candle lit.

Had a nice chat to the family and we saw Evie! Owen was very quiet. Applauded at our door for the NHS.  Watching Angelus, Midday prayer and Mass from Dominican sisters of St Joseph, Lymington. The psalm at Mass was beautifully sung unaccompanied. Alas the homily was hard to hear and soon after that the sound went altogether. Just wondering if the internet is getting overloaded?  Session 1 of Ian Knowles icon painting course worked perfectly on my phone but session 2 could not hear anything on Zoom. My laptop does not want Zoom to have audio! I will have to use Liz's tablet. Waiting for Ian to send link to session 2. Got session 2 on YouTube but am now behind. Remaining sessions were interesting. Sat morning all about gilding which h I will not be doing. To mosaic and tai chi (6 there) then to Balham library. Shocked at the mess the music scores are in! Home for a meal and sent off letters to parents to Deirdre at Coloma for the July meeting. 7 p.m. thanksgiving Mass for the confirmation candidates beautifully celebrated by Fr Paolo. Nice cake and party slightly wrecked by rain. To the end of Beckenham Catenian meeting and one volunteer to help at Coloma and got banners.

Fr Paolo had told me about the commemoration so I skipped the recital at Smith Square and went early to Charterhouse. Martin Penny lived there at the end of his life. The service was simple and moving and ecumenical. Martin Prendergast introduced me to Jennifer Middleton the Methodist minister who chairs Islington interfaith. Came home to find a big match and people being really stupid and selfish about letting cars through. One guy got through the gap and then parked blocking the queue! Also buses parked in Whitehorse Lane is crazy! Parked outside Mary's.

Took lIz to Selhurst to get train. I went to Elmers End and got train to Catford Bridge for recital at St Laurence. I was early so read in Catford library. Read 3 articles today for course. John Keys of St Mary's Nottingham played an all Bach programme immaculately, He knows Fr Simon Gillespie. Lady told me Gary Sieling was leaving Bromley PC but it's not true, Vespers and Mass with Fr Paolo and a powerful homily on the Prodigal Son. Watched Wild Arabia. Opera from Met was Don Carlo.
