To spirituality day in Hinsley Room. 20 there. Fr Paul from Chelmsford was as good as ever and confession was such a help. The theme was "Light out of darkness" and the resurrection. Excellent talks and I read "Imitation of Christ" and Tablets. My postcards from Wurzburg were much appreciated. Watched part 2 of "The Apprentice" and Sir Alan got it completely wrong.

What a blessed day! I spoke to Ann on Skype and went to Homebase to get paint for Liz as she is redecorating Grandma's house while she is in hospital. She did not have the procedure today but Louise and Bruce visited her. Liz was on sacristy duty at the cathedral. Fr Paul Fox from Chelmsford led the spirituality day. It was lovely to see everyone again as I missed last month as a result of the fall. There were also some new faces and I sold some CDs! Paul spoke about Kairos time and ordinary time and the need to wait patiently. I went to confession with him and he was wonderful. It is such a joy to lay the burden down and start again. Paul works in prisons so has a wealth of experience. The final Sharing in his life session was attended by 7 and they enjoyed it. 3 of the group had been to the Holy Land and spoke of the moving experiences in the desert and in Galilee. A very busy but fulfilling day. I rehearsed the St Luke Passion with Adrian Adams. It was a beautiful day so I enjoyed the walk up to St John's with a pause at the spot where Mum and Dad's ashes are buried in the Calvary garden. Then to the Centre for Spirituality at the Cathedral for a day led by Fr Paul Fox from Chelmsford. He has worked with disabled children and now with prisoners. He spoke of how our sins can be recycled and transformed by God into something good. This is a powerful message and he spoke too of the humanity of Jesus. To deny this is to deny the Incarnation. I took the opportunity to make my confession - always a difficult thing to do! I made the Stations of the Cross using Fr Cormac Rigby's excellent booklet and I found a quote from Fr Gerard Hughes in this week's Tablet which matched Fr Paul's comments so well.
