Angela Tilby led day of prayer at St Margaret's on Seeking the face of God. Wonderful talks. Had lunch at Methodist Central Hall. Had the shrine to myself!!!! Evensong Noble in B minor and favourite anthem Wesley Ascribe unto the Lord. The boys were great not so sure about some of the men. The B team? Harwood sonata movement. Had a look in the new Waterstones near Victoria. It's huge. Bishop Paul confirmation. His Irish accent is so think I did not understand his homily at all. He filled the chalice so Aymeric and I had to drink it! Patrick seemed confused! Fr John helped out.  To fit the gospel played Bach O lamm Gott unschuldig and Handel Behold the lamb of God. We sang Webbe Lamb of God. Full marks to Imogen who had been to see the exhibition. She found it too sad to bid! Reached Caterham station in time and tried to get on train. Turns out front 4 coaches only. Furious with 2 staff more concerned with waving the train out. They could have made it wait. Why long trains on...

To Bowley close and my new inner sole is good! Dennis came. Tried to go to Mass but the road was blocked by a fire engine! To art and more or less finished "Desperate to land". The hall was cold and I became shivery so moved near a heater then I was too hot. I wanted to move the picture flat in its case but somebody else picked it up. I was just about to go back and geet it. Next time I move the painting first if it's wet!! Skipped Mind body and spirit and came home and slept well. Produced new invitation for other faiths (and none) for the exhibition. To Dulwich curry night. The food was great but such a long wait! Slept right through I was exhausted! Friday to see Des at Balham. Did not go to cathedral to do welcoming - came home and rested. Started clearing front room for tree. Good practice for carols.

Excellent evensong from Winchester with Wood Coll Reg and Mendelssohn. Set off at 5.30 on buses and underground to the Oval wearing suit, waistocat, coat, hat, scarf, gloves and Wellington boots. Reached the Oval (snow still lying) at 6.30 and about 85 made it to Dulwich 500th. Lovely venue with view over the snow-covered ground. Bishop John Arnold stood in for Pat Lynch and did a great job. The Grand President didn't make it so Duncan stood in and did well presenting scrolls to John Almeida and Peter Walsh for 40 years and one to John Carton. Also a glass and whisky to Malachy and had a taste of it. I also had a small white wine so hope it does not react with the malaria tablets which we have nearly finished. A very nice meal of soup, salmon and lemon tart. £680 collected for CAFOD. I was home on underground and buses by 11.45. Cold.
