Book bearer at morning prayer and tenebrae - lovely Victoria and an excellent homily from the Cardinal. Shopping and tea at Marks. Beautiful  evensong from Chichester featuring Bairstow Lamentations and Jackson in G. Had a fun day putting family tree onto ancestry.co.uk. Picked up Ann and Paul from West Norwood and Dennis came. To Beckenham for Vigil and Fr Paul sang Exultet very dramatically and effectively. Only 19 there but the singing was good. One baptism. Hallelujah chorus got a clap and a Bravo! To cathedral by 10.30 in time for consecration prayer. Choir sang Gabrieli but of course missed the Vierne. Vierne 6 at the end - splendid. Home by 12.30.  It seems Martin Baker composed the Mandatum music on Tuesday and choir sang it magnificently on Maundy Thursday.

Woke at 3 so rose and caught up on emails. Went back to bed and up at 8 a.m. I was practising before service (Walton Orb and sceptre) and Sue (?) came up to the loft and asked if I could keep the sound down as people were wanting quiet to pray. Interesting that Fr Paul and Sean were not there at that stage. Later I noted some loud chatter downstairs. Fr Aidan thanked me afterwards. I played Pilgrims chorus from Tannhauser and Water music. I said nothing but put it on Face Book and informed Paul. I think the solution is to arrive earlier and stop at 10 a.m.and insist Bill does psalm alone from the front. Both ladies missed practice of it before service. The loop still not working. To Claire's to see Grainne and Dino - kids 7 and 3 Sophia looks older. Had a good chat. Home for lunch and ironed while listening to Chichester Southern cathedrals festival evensong. Searched for my new passport but cannot find it. It cost £80! Sorted out scores and nice chicken dinner with wine and bake...

Worked on notes for the 2 essays checking back through my note books and the books which can go back to the library on Monday. Listened to choral evensongs from Chichester and Keble college, Oxford - we shall be playing that organ in May.

Tuesday swam 30 but back still playing up so rang British School of Osteopathy and got an appointment the same afternoon! To see David Stone financial advisor - very nice and not pushy at all! To BSO and only paid £5 as Simon was taking his final exam. He identified the problem and worked on it. Cold is good. Missed free concert by the Sixteen and Liz did not go to servers council. To Louise's and had risotto. We had fish and chips at Ollie's Great Suffolk Street in the afternoon. Watched Great houses. Slept better on blow up bed as Liz was on the couch. Took Ciarán to music but it was downstairs and he was much distracted by the model car. We took him to the park next to the river and then to Ealing for shopping and lunch at M & S.
