Really enjoyed taking the boys to College garden at the Abbey all about science with 2 remarkable scientists doing circus tricks about science. Lunch at Methodist central hall cafe. Mass at cathedral Fr Julio. Did not like Ask me's art at Meditatio centre. To Estorick Who's afraid of drawing? I am not and did 2 sketches. Jewish museum closed but found the wonderful Gail's bakery! To life drawing at National Portrait gallery. It really is fantastic value £8 for seniors 2 hours with a good model. Tonight we had an older lady - it was bit like drawing your Mum or favourite aunt! Not being ageist at all - she was very good at holding a pose! Got home quite quickly. Liz is at Beckenham Catenian May supper.

A bird walk in Knights Hill Wood led by Dave with Dennis Woodhouse. Amazed at the variety and birdsong. To interfaith lunch and not so many there. Monet and architecture at National Gallery is a lovely exhibition. BUT is it worth £10 with art fund card to struggle to see the pictures? In some rooms there were at least 30 people. The National Gallery is more interested in money than people's enjoyment. Maybe one must go at 10 a.m.? Or not go at all. Murillo self portraits are free. Excessive to charge £1.50 per item in cloakroom. In future I will leave bag at NPG which is £1 for a locker. The Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society is a wonderful film. Penelope Wilton is outstanding in a great cast and the scenery! Surprised to hear it was filmed in Devon. To Acton and watched rest of Lisbon and Baku art lover's guide. A lot done in the library Disney and baby books thrown out, 3 volunteers came for some training and the Year 6 girls did a lot of labelling and shelving. 3...

Mass. What a pleasure to meet my amazing teacher Nelson Ferreira in the Grand cafe and visit the Royal Academy life drawing exhibition. I popped into the Dali/Duchamp which I knew I would dislike to see the Crucifixion. It was very crowded. To St James Piccadilly to see Suspended in aid of Safe Passage. Evidence of homeless sleeping on our streets. At least they can sleep in that church. Booked up Bristol course.  Watched Christmas Bakeoff and Victoria Wood. 

To the hidden community garden at Norwood Junction and learnt of the excellent work with schools by the British Transport Police resulting in a drop in trespassing. Apparently East European adults forget and try to go home on the tracks. Really worrying. To Boots to see optician and ended up getting 2 pairs of new glasses. To Central music library and found all the scores I wanted. Life drawing at National Portrait Gallery - did 8 sketches in 2 hours. Quite tired and also carrying 2 bags of scores! Deleted video of KCSP Mass - should have been told not to take it! Liz here. A quiet snack in one of Liverpool's museums,,,,,,,this following from a train carriage full of a stag party and much cheer flowing, it was only Friday morning!!! However I did have two cans of G and T which was nice. Looking forward to some nice singing at Evensong and then in the morning a big altar server's Mass in the wigwam..

Another glorious day. Life drawing at National portrait gallery. Excellent model. 

A great Gandhi conference at the Wellcome lots of practical ideas. I was amused at the Delhi professor of English dressed in English public school style complete with cravat and his comments on Gandhi's views of education would put him out of a job! He advocated national service in the villages for students in India. Met a Jain studying heritage conservation at UCL and a couple from Northern Ireland. William and Gandhi foundation fold were there. The electricity and nature exhibitions are excellent and good to see a section on zoos. Life drawing at NPG very good and some progress made!

I wrote to the children to thank them for the opera and told them about our unhappiness here. Ann took us to Bronte beach the rock pool is much improved but cold. We had delicious fruit pancakes. Went shopping at Broadway and I read my book. Passed Glebe. More work on the book. We took 3 books to the post office it cost 55 dollars by sea. The book about Hobart Town Hall and 2 of Dad's scrapbooks. I went to life drawing at the art gallery and enjoyed it.Had a chat to the model. Home in daylight cathedral looking lovely in the warm sunlight. 2 beers gone from the cupboard there are now 5 sharing one bathroom which is not good. room very hot despite fan. snow at home.

Friday was a brilliant day. I was greeted at John Fisher school Purley by the head Philip McCullach and he sat in on the year 7 lesson. I was greatly impressed by the preparation on the Catenians and the Powerpoint went really well with lots of interaction. Juan's son's friend was in the class! To Selhurst and saw Steve Murphy - he is now retired. First spiritual guidance meeting with Ivan - I like him. We met in the Selhurst cafe but it was noisy. Liz went to Acton after choir. 2 hours life drawing at National Portrait gallery enjoyed it and did 7 drawings. Watched Citizen Khan and programme on Thomas Cromwell. Carpets cleaned after 3 years.

Swam 20. To doctor and ears syringed no  nice but makes a huge difference having the wax out. Liz went to hair and I went to art and again we had life drawing which we enjoyed. Watched Fake of fortune about Lucien Freud and University challenge.   F antastic Strictly come dancing Prom, full of excellent music and fab dancing.  Did a sketch as we stood on the rail.
