Alan arrived.Tuk tuk with Fr Renato to 7am Mass at our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. Overhead projector on screen for the Mass texts but not the hymns which came out of a book containing Christmas Polka and secular songs. Gloria and Alleluia replaced by choruses. Priest spoke well but it all seeemed rather formal. We met the parish priest. We went to Holy Redeemer Prem's church where the service was just ending in English so we saw the 3 kings from the Sunday school. I sketched them during the Tamil service and we were given a tour of the medical camp, girls fellowship, youth fellowship and met the delightful Tamil choir. Then to outreach project at Navalore where there was a tent next to the little church. Singing, dancing, gifts (nice bowls), speeches. I liked Ivor's JOY Jesus, others, you but I think he should get a translator. He tends to just do his own thing and start singing. Woke at 3 a.m. and then at 8.20 so no swim. To mosaic and completed the 2 small ones. Tai chi and help with knees. Bought shirt buttons at poundland. Grouted the mosaics. Anita cleaned. To Bromley Court hotel for joint meeting of Bromley and Chislehurst & Orpington. Wore Christmas jumpers and hats and donated to Save the children. Waited ages for the meal which was good and we sat with Peter and Ann Woodford Grand Vice-President. Liz ws given lilies and we sang carols between courses.

Nice day and spent most of it in the garden varnishing the 6 mosaics and cutting up the wood and varnishing that with 4 coats then putting them up and they look good! Listened to Sally Beamish composer portrait and Greek chamber orchestra prom. Liz to Prom with Haitink and I heard Mahler 4 on way home from Mass. Fr John thanked me and Simon played. Listened to Strauss Suite for wind with score. Benedict Mason late Prom odd!

Displayed 6 Roman mosaics and 2 fridge magnets plus small paintings from Esme and Rosa in the case at Thornton Heath pool. Several people said how nice they were. Because of the case I abandoned an amount of the explanations and kept it simple. Swam 20. To Thornton Heath library and helped Julie put up the paintings - I have 6 up! Looks great.
