Ciaran came to art group with me and did some nice drawings. In the afternoon Louise took the boys to Bethlem for action painting workshop. Bruce coming over end of May. Sang at funeral of Chris Younger at St John Upper Norwood. Morgan played Claire de lune beautifully. Maundy Thursday began with the tolling of a single bell for Notre Dame. I played Priere a Notre Dame, Words worth Nicht so traurig, Bach Passion chorale and Coleman Pange lingua. We had incense and Love is his word. Elgar Ave verum and Ps 88. Great to have 4 good singers. I could not help thinking of the musicians and people of Notre Dame. Celebrity painting challenge was good.

Painted 2 acrylics at art of the cross and feet. To South London interfaith group lunch - a moving presentation about the care learning disability needs. I gave Fr Adrian my copy of the JRS report on the homeless migrants which makes shocking readiing. To Caterham and played Wordsworth and Hwnry Coleman and we sang Elgar Ave verum. For some reason the choir stopped in the middle of Pange lingua. Not many there. The repair shop on TV.

Swam 20. Saw a mouse last night in the lounge - Liz saw it in the dining room the other evening so reset 3 traps. To art and worked on Venice picture. To Streatham only to find interfaith lunch is next week! Watched Mary Berry's Easter feast, art of Scandinavia and Songs of Praise. Also had a lie-down! Liz baking Hot cross buns. Played for Maundy Thursday liturgy at St John Caterham. William Wordsworth on Nicht so traurig (actually composed at Hindhead) and Groves on Pange lingua and Adoro te. We sang A new commandment by Peter Aston. Train at 6 and home at 10! Watched last Royal Navy school. News from Brussels still bad. 

Swam 20. To art - Julie not there, price going up a pound next week! Checked tyres and worked on videos from Holy Land. Computer keeps crashing. To first hour at the cathedral excellent homily from the Cardinal, Josquin and Baker Mandatum. First train broke down going up from Kent House. Back for 8 p.m. at St Michael's - went well but only 10 there and horrified that Debbie was back in the choir - she has not beeen at any rehearsals! 

Swam 32 and a glorious day. Watched the Royal Maundy from Westminster Abbey on the Queen's 85th birthday. A lovely occasion and we spotted Francis Clark and Ann's husband receiving the Maundy. Archbishop Vincent and Canon Christopher were there. Lovely Brahms Geistliches Lied and good hymns too. "Praise to the holiest" "It is a thing most wonderful" and "My song is love unknown". Elgar Sonata at the end. Nice that Manx and European churches were represented. Fixed up the wiring for water feature and David came for a cuppa. Heard some of the Bach St Matthew Passion conducted by David Hill. Picked up Marie. Service went well and feet were washed for the first time in many years! We sang Ubi caritas. John very late and not at practice. To mock thy reign went a bit off key but psalms were well done. It seems the gong was not used at yesterday's funeral so it was not my hearing!

I have been laid low with toothache and a sore right ankle. The doctor diagnosed arthritis in the shoulder as causing the tingling in left hand fingers. The dentist prescribed antibiotics and at the moment (touch wood) the pain has gone away but it looks as though the wisdom tooth will be removed as the filling is large and hard to reach. The ankle is a mystery but could be linked to the fall I had outside the hospital when visiting Grandma who has been in and out of King's College hospital and is currently due to come home. Happy Easter!
