Easy walk from the library. Did not have to go on the desk at all so did Lily's PRP and catalogued scores and caught up on admin. Showed Sabina ordering stationery and petty cash book. Fell asleep watching High Street programme.

Spoke to Ann. To Tooting common for Age concern South Wandsworth meeting and I ended up chairing a meeting I had not attended before! Nice home. To Hinsley room for Eileen Dutt on "Blessed are the persecuted" and silent meditation. Home for 2 and painting lounge. Jasmine white on green has meant 3 coats. Listened to excellent evensong from St David's and Handel's "Il resurrezione". Watched programme on tenors and Young apprentice.

I woke late so no swim. I got to Age concern meeting in time and took minutes. Angela mentioned Holocaust day next January commemorating 65th anniversary of Auschwitz being liberated so I mentioned Cirla Lewis. To the park for a nice picnic and enjoying "The way home" by Rose Tremain. Staff meetings went OK . Home to have dinner in the garden and watch the prom - Rite of Spring, Ravel La Valse and fascinating new cello concerto by Unsuk Chin played from memory by Alban Gerhardt. BBC Scottish conducted by Ilan Volkov. Watched Debussy and Takemitsu recordings.

To Age Concern Battersea group meeting and I again took the minutes. It was a lively meeting. I went to the venue on Tuesday having got the date wrong on the time sheet! Staff meetings in the afternoon and pretty positive. To Mass at cathedral and the Cardinal's lecture. He traced the history of the Westminster hierarchy and outlined problems for the Church in a secular world. He highlighted formation and prayer. In answering questions he affirmed interfaith dialogue. A good audience too. Saw Hannah back from Chicago, Connie, Eleanor, Louise and a brace of bishops and the nuncio. David played Bach, Buxtehude and Mendelssohn. Watched second part of "Margaret" about Thatcher's downfall and a Channel 4 programme on life events. Micky reports Miko has had a stroke. Did a card for Laurence as his mother died last week.

Did a workshop about the library at the Age Concern activity days conference. Sylvie from NAPA was very inspiring about getting the elderly involved. Jeff did Tai Chi - I had to miss Monday's session because of lack of staff. I didn't get a lunch break as I had to go back to the library form 1 to 2. The Power station community forum was disappointing. It seems the new owners are going back to square one and getting plans drawn up again so more delay. Doddington West residents association gave me a chance to talk about the library. it was interesting to hear of pigeons, rats and crime on the estate. Graham Harris chaired very well indeed and we heard from Tony of BaseD. Unfortunately the meeting went on to 10 p.m. so I was knackered. Today I had a rest and went to St Michael's from Thomas Corns' excellent recital. He played a fine piece on Veni creator by Kenneth Leighton and in interesting fugue by Brahms.
