Swim, we both went to Mass and remembered little Georgie who's funeral was at Acton. Liz went to see Henry swimming. I could not find parking. We all went to the pub lunch. Quiet time. Liz to council. To St Peter Eaton Square for live radio 3 BBC singers concert with Robert Quinney and William John Richard Whitehead at the end of Orgelbuchlein project. It is a great achievement but sadly I have only heard one new piece which I might wish to play. Enjott Schneider. I was no 11 in the queue but it was a very long wait to go in.

Took Sean to music and he definitely said Bells and Shaker. Picked up the Alexanders and we had lunch at Acton park café which was nice. I took them back to the 72 bus to go to Roehampton and went to Hisley room. 13 came to hear Imam Hasim Afiz the first Imam to HM armed forces. He was excellent. My phone was left in Louise's car and Liz did not bring it home. To Robert Quinney's recital which was exhausting and I slept twice. McCabe and Giles Swayne was interesting but the Bridge was a relief. Fr Aidan Rossiter was there.

At evensong we sang Murrill in E and I waited for the Lord and Adrian played Mendelssohn 3 - always a treat! Listened to Robert Quinney live from Peterborough cathedral playing the Wedge, CPE Bach, Brahms, Francis Pott and Elgar sonata - excellent. Put Bruce and EJ's photo in the clock. Advertised events on Face Book and webinar. 

Swam 20. Saw Dr Attard about bruise on upper leg - cortisone cream - he asked if I had had shorts on - fat chance the weather we have been having!  To Acton for when Ciarán came out of nursery - met the nanny for the autumn - very nice. To Carluccios for a lovely lunch - had asparagus risotto and lemon sorbet and white wine - starter with gorgonzola. Ciaran had made a card for me and presented with a lovely hat - very smart. To Interfaith group after tea at M & S. Got ticket for Venice concert. Only 3 there to hear an excellent Power Point by Morten Thuysen from the World Development movement. Shocking to hear how government are linked to finance and fossil fuel companies even Vince Cable! Their campaign is Carbon Capital. To Foyles bookshop and impressed by their religion section - in fact found some Eckhart references! To Soho Square but by then the sun had gone. Earlier had met Fr John O'Leary and Fr Michael Archer and commented that I wished I had my shorts on. To St Patri...

When Liz came home we had a delicious lunch with pannacotta and elderflower cordial. I went to the cathedral for Martin Baker playing Cesar Franck's Trois pieces using Dad's score. I noted one marking in red in the Cantabile. Met John East and he remarked on the Old Johannian emails. Then to Westminster Abbey where Robert Quinney played Bach and Mozart. Home to watch Call the midwife and programme on the origin of life. Wrote the article about Xavier's ordination using Maud Matley's account.

At Coulsdon we sang the Benedictus to an Anglican chant and Sumsion in F and John Barnard's arrangement of "Lord I want to be a Christian". We also sang "And can it be" one of Wesley's finest. Teresa gave a fine sermon about how we got our names. Just like Elizabeth, my Mum insisted on my name being John despite my Dad being Francis and my Granddad Frank. I always identified with John the Evangelist. I practised "O happy day" with Generations (the bride to be very happy with it!) and was pleased that they knew Mike Anderson's "clapping" Gloria. I also worked on Mandelssohn 5th sonata and the Widor Toccata. Buses home and quick lunch and train to London Bridge. Fine evensong at Southwark cathedral and Ellie and lots of others got their RSCM awards. Harwood in A flat and the Barnard taken slower than I did it. I do tend to play too quickly. Desmond Tutu preached there this morning - I should love to meet him and Nelson Mandela. Daniel ...
