The organist librarian

On underground yesterday young man wearing shorts and tank top which revealed most of his chest. He was with young woman obviously been doing something sporty. But I rather think he should have put a T shirt on. So many people are wearing flipflops and scant clothing these days!  Swam 20 and wrote my Catenian Provincial president's blog. Painted a picture of flowers at art and started an angel picture. To see the doctor and mole must come off and knee to be Xrayed - it is much better thanks to icepacks and rest! Watched Proms Extra and a bit of Bake off. Took car to Battersea Park for parking. Enjoyed the Proms poetry entries very much although one fo them bore no relation to Dukas that I could hear!  2 Proms. Beethoven violin concerto seemed rather too confidential in places. Reger and Strauss and Wagner encore from Dresden Stattskapelle all enjoyable. Why no big Reger organ work this season? The late night prom featured Handel coronation anthems. Swam 20. Did some looking up on Meister Eckhart. To Bromley library to get scores - 3 of them could not be found in stacks. Sandwich and coffee chatting to couple and gave out fliers for the Sunday series -  a couple of people asked for directions. Chris Town was there. A stunning recital by Tak who is 22 and has just graduated at the Royal College. Vierne, Muffat, Buxtehude , dancing Bach, Howells and Mulet - the last my Dad would have said "The crossing gates are open!" She is clearly a name to watch! Had very nice dinner on return home and Liz went to Chiswick. Cardiff singer of the world and a programme on Ian Banks and Father Brown. 

To Unison committee meeting - quite short this time. I reported on asbestos and swine flu under health and safety. To St Michael's for organ recital by Peter Wright. Muffat, Bach Prelude and fugue in C, Hollins Song of sunshine which is a lollipop, Vierne Feux follets and Demessieux Te Deum (she used to play in high heels!). Liz was there having had her haircut. Grandma OK. Had coffee and cakes with Peter, Adrian and Graham. Passed on compliments to the Dean for yesterday's sermon. I have finished Jill Dawson's remarkable novel about Rupert Brooke "The great lover". This explores many themes especially sex and death. Not for the easily shocked!
