 Wed April 19 swam. I think my watch recorded too many lengths?  To Wallace collection to see paintings of dogs. After the delights of Landseer Hockney's efforts are disappointing considering he is a brilliant draughtsman! Lovely photos of the Queen with her corgis and dorgis. Interfaith group really was interfaith as Amir came and Fr Hugh from the cathedral clergy joined us which is great! Fr Swavek had asked him to come. Alan was on his usual subject! Watched last of Wild Isles series. To Balham circle delicious lamb and apricot tart. Asked about showing the film. Nick came for first time. 

Thursday slept late so no swim. Art and nearly finished Crucifixion painting. Took shoes to Salvation Army and got petrol. Churches trust talk - they are moving to Mondays at 6 which does not suit. To organ recital at St John's Mark Brafield played an interesting programme Locklair Bach Franck Mushel Tailleferre Slogedal.

Friday Liz to get baskets done for front garden. Train to St John Waterloo. Debate by Lords committee hard to hear. Great to meet animators including Magda from Poland. Outside but wet so ended up in porch where we could not hear text but we sang hymns. Kept meeting people I know. Walked to Shell and on to Parliament Square. Methodist central hall cafe closed but loos and sat outside then walked to Victoria. 6.2 km. Chorus talk on zoom - 8 there Simon. Jenny. Benetta, Chris Tew, Marilyn, Simon Surtees, Film did not want to work but in the end I got it going. Watched Pilgrimage part 3 - it was moving when they reached Fatima. Would I lie to you highlights.

Sat SM Angela at Parliament, Hurtado meditation and SM Nazareth letter. To Parliament Square Faith hub and took small folding seat. Great to meet more people including Revd Helen who confronted Michael Gove on Ash Wednesday. Fr Stephen Power SJ, Fr Tiziano, , Liz Barrett, Cecilia Bullock. The Mass with Fr Joe Ryan who said he had waited 52 years for this day and showed us his copy of Laudato Si'. Daniel Bath led the singing with a tambourine. Cath Dixie was there. It was great! So appropriate to have Emmaus as the gospel. People gradually joined in. Farewells and then tubes and bus to Tulse Hill where Liz served at Mass and tuned out coil in organ has been replaced. To Fairfiled Hall for Pipe dreams with Anna Lapwood. Philip Glass Mad Rush then Britten Young person's guide conducted by Anna Duczmal-Mroz. Saint Saens organ symphony - the organ did not come through so well. John Powell Test drive and we saw video of the organ at the Whitgift. At interval our drinks were downstairs not in the friends bar at all! Good value for £5.

Sunday played Guest and Moore on St Fulbert, Willan on Vulpius. We sang A brighter dawn. Watched some of the marathon. Henry came and baked gingerbread men. Played Debussy and Coates on piano. My hearing has been poor today. Wrote article about the Big One and sent complaint to BBC about lack of coverage. Chief Rabbi address on Shoah.

Monday easily exceeded by exercise total swim and aerobics. Liz to doctor. Another weird email from Valentine about servers. Famous chords Gresham lecture. Scanned anthem for Clarissa. To Beckenham circle for first time for a long time now Balham has changed our meeting night. Langley Park golf club is a good venue. Sat with other visitors while AGM was going on. Meeting acoustics terrible and the new President Andy speaks too softly so I heard very little. Bought my own drink! Chat to Mike, Ron and Peter. Brendan and Declan said nothing! Wet night.

Tuesday swim. Mastermind final was excellent. Spidir committee on zoom. Coronation concert - got email saying click on link as successful in ballot - not tickets left. Further email confirmed this! Disappointing. To Croydon circle at Purley Downs golf club very warm welcome. As I was the only visitor I spoke briefly. Enjoyed it unlike last night!

Wednesday no swim. Boiler serviced. To Herne Hill to meet new directee Claire. Coffee and chocolate and orange cake at The Sicilian. We got on very well. Sister of Sion Gemma Simmonds abandoned. She was in Ely. One earth one love webinar. Too academic. Evensong from Merton Oxford. A bit of lost Gods in Wales Gresham lecture. To Sandestead URC Jeremy Lloyd from Rochester cathedral returning to where he started. The organ is 3 manual but not helped by so many soft furnishings. JSB, Elgar, Wesley, Whitlock, Lanquetuit. Carnival by Tommy and an Albanian dance for his son's wedding by James MacMillan - what a delight. Jeremy is very pleasant. Simon Reeve in Ireland. Tommy was delighted that his piece was played.

Thursday swim and art. Crucifixion painting finished and good work on the violinist. Cheltenham prayer and reflection on last Friday. Lord Sentanu turned away at Shell very arrogantly and there is no letter box!! 20 at animators meeting! A bit of the Regents Park college seminar but is was dull. Interfaith Birmingham meeting on dying well - Sikh lady spoke too long! Bernard Longley. Pamela Rider about Claremont House and Esher.

Friday swim. We both went to Unacc and Barbara did a gentle exercise session. Got chocolate croissants, buns and grapefruit. I had jab no 5 at Beckenham pharmacy. Much discussion about Streatham Hill. We went to see The unlikely pilgrimage of Harold Fry and it's lovely. Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton are fantastic. Had goats cheese pizza. More work on sky of jigsaw.

Saturday lie-in. Cath at Highgate for prayer walk. Put chorus stuff away in filing cabinet. Frida Kahlo programme with original footage. Simon Reeve in Ireland. To Mass. Spoke briefly to Nicola. On return home wrote letter saying we will not continue there. Tenebrae at St John Smith Square - Bach and MacMillan No texts given and all a bit the same!
